You probably don't frequent this mod anymore, but I have a question.
I tried adding some new recipies (such as adding a rare can and turnip's miracle recipe] to existing categories, but they only show up as [Do not use recipe] in game. I left the flags be, and tried adding levels to the recipies, but it hasn't worked. I'm new to modding in general, so I may be doing something wrong.

Hi, I've been looking at the source code for this and I'd like to add some more features such as NPC editing. Can I have your permission to modify the program and upload the improved version to this website?

Hi again! There was an update that happened back in March which added Chinese to the game (and...that's it. No bug fixes or anything then or since, which is pretty annoying, but I digress). I never got around to using the Shop Editor before this update, but I don't think it's working now... When I select "Shop Editor" from the "Items" dropdown menu in the tool, all I see are blank boxes that have dropdowns which lead to a blank box. I think the game executable must have changed, and therefore the Shop Editor can no longer function, as you warn in the forum post for using the Shop Editor. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if the update broke the tool, but I would very much like to use it. Your tools have proven immensely useful and fun, so I hope this is something that can be remedied.

A new update released, unsure if it broke this. All this update did was add chinese.

RF4S update is out on steam, and it broke (as expected) the Shop editor. V0.2.1 Beta addresses this problem, and allows to edit the Dec 17 version of the game or an older version if you managed to back it up.

I know this isn't exactly related to this particular tool, but do you have any idea on how we can either convert or open .model files? Reaching out to the modders I see on here to ask if anyone has a clue on how to do that.

New version is out, and it allows you to edit shops. But do be careful, as shops are located inside the EXE file, and not in separate files. I may add a Shop Exporter and Importer in a later version, but for now, any update will break the editor, and "Verifying integrity" on Steam will remove any changes made to the shops.

The "being on the EXE" part is the reason I won't release a mod for this one feature of the editor, but I have written an article on the editor and it should be quite easy to add the most requested items to the shops (Lumber and stone somewhere, and milk and eggs to the general store).

I'm surprised and very happy that the tool is very, very easy to use in terms of editing recipes.

The only thing lacking is a delete recipe button but one can work around it by carefully only adding the recipes you need.

Hello! Thank you so much for this; I am quite excited to figure out how it works! I have already opened it, dumped the bundle, and began editing recipes. However, I have a few questions:

    1. How do I edit which category of recipe gets added? For example, if I wanted to add a new recipe as a Handmade/Simple recipe, how would I ensure it is added as a Handmade/Simple recipe? I have figured out how to change the input and output; now I am wondering how to change the category. (I understand that you already have categories in your "Rune Factory 4 Test Mod" and also "A Large Number of Recipes" mod; I suppose we can just add recipes to those preexisting categories. However, just in case someone is wondering how to make their own recipes independent of your mods, I will leave this question here.)

    2. What is "Flag 0x[...]"? Apparently, mine defaults to "Flag 0x155" and I don't know if I should touch it. Since I don't know what it does, I should probably leave it alone, but I thought I'd ask if it's important.

    3. What is "Order"? I tried to think about what it meant, I couldn't think of any reason why it's important to know about or change.

    4. You said that we can edit your recipes as much as we wanted; however, I can't figure out how to open them. How do I see the recipes? When I open them using the editor, I can't see the recipes added. (I found out that I just had to press the drop-down menu in order to see the recipes you had added in your mod "A Large Number of Recipes" after opening them in the editor. Sorry for being a dumb. I will leave this here, though, in case it helps anyone else.)

    *EDIT:
    5. How do I make a recipe accept a broad range of items in a particular slot? Meaning, if I wanted a cooking recipe to take any size of milk or egg, or a non-cooking recipe (such as one on the crafting bench) to take any item belonging to the strings and sticks category, how would I do that?
*EDIT: 6. How do I delete entries? If there is an addition from one of your other mods that I don't want to use, how do I delete it from the recipe file while retaining all other changes? I would assume that I set everything to "nothing," but I wanted to ask just in case that's not what I'm supposed to do.

    (Sorry for all the questions.)

Thank you for your contributions to the RF4S Modding community! I was already extremely excited when the game came out for Steam. Now, I have many brand new reasons to be very elated and enthusiastic to play the game!

      1. Unfortunately, for now, no new categories can be added. To change a recipe category, you need to load the correct RF3Recipe*.bin file. Most are self-explanatory (Drug for chemistry, Farm for farm objects), but weapons are different. WeaponA is short swords, B is long swords, those are the ones I remember from the top of my mind, and E is empty (probably a remnant from axe/Hammer split).

      2. Flag is the bit that gets changed in the code for when to unlock the recipe. If you set IE: flag to 0x113, it will unlock when you learn the Recovery potion Recipe. Unfortunately, I do not have a list of the available flags, so I usually just use the one from the item whose recipe I want to unlock with it.

      3. Order is the order on the default recipe table the recipe appears at. If you set your new recipe to order = 1, it will appear before the first default recipe (so, in chemistry, that would be before the Recovery Potion). The recipes are sorted by that order in the recipe combobox.

      5. Categories are items like any other, with the exception of any milk and any egg, which is just using the (S) version in the recipe. Categories start after "Iron waltz" and end at "Squid". I have yet to find any way to make new categories.

      6. Oops, forgot the delete button. Will be present in the next release.

Wow, thanks for responding, and thanks for the very helpful reply! I'm having SO much fun with this tool and your other mods as well, so thank you for providing this and them, too! I said in another one of your mods that I greatly appreciate your contributions to the Rune Factory 4 Special modding community, but it bears repetition here. Thank you very much~
