I originally wanted the beds to be powered and to use up Medicine like the Nutrient Paste Dispenser uses up food. I could not figure out how to make it use up Medicine, though, and making them powered added too many text lines to the description and pushed off the owner of the bed. So I scrapped those ideas. However, maybe I could have Cala13ber just roll it up into Industrial RIM...

ghussak, those pics are awesome! I am currently testing them for Alpha 3 (3d if SendOwl's server ever comes back online). Since A3 has changed availability of the Medicine resource, and since most other mods do NOT use multiple resources per item, I am balancing this for using more metal and power instead of Medicine.
By the way, RimWorld seems to want the bed textures upside down. I rotated your pics so they would work; no big deal; just FYI.
Medicine availability comes way too late to make this mod of any use in Alpha 3. And trying to make the beds use power does not affect whether or not colonists can sleep in the beds even when the beds are turned "off". So now I am thinking of requiring just metal to build the beds and be done with it.
May be the medicine availability could be tweaked? even if the initial items we get could have a pile of 10 medikits.
I think colonists could sleep on a non powered bed, but the buffed healing would be disabled then, so, requiring power to work. Indeed, only metal to build, medkits are the "fuel"
The healing buff/increase would be determined by a colonist medicine skill.
great idea! also, could you change the graphics to look like a medical bed: white bed, maybe cyan pillow, and it could occupy like 4 squares, the two additional with medical monitoring equipment graphics!

I think the buffed healing (for one hour) could be activated by a colonist medic using a medkit on a patient in the powered medical bed.
Now I got puzzled, I think the power to the bed could be re-added even if it was an optional download just to we see the problem ; anyway, it sounds like a bug that could be fixed on the engine and should not prevent the mod ideas development :>
