Thank You to EVERYONE Who Has Taken a Chance on My Little Shader & Walkthrough

I am only an humble servant...

BACKGROUND:

I have been struggling to get that 2k-4k 2560 x 1440P (almost life-like) experience from RDR2 because of its poor implementation of TAA. After some experimenting with a couple of mods and shader adjustments, I found not the best but a damn good starting point to getting the most out of this wonderful experience that is RDR2 graphicly.

INCLUDED:

A reshader created with the goal of:

  • Defined blacks that don't gray out (except for in fog which is expected)
  • Ambient lighting that doesn't bleed all over the place due to too much exposure and/or saturation
  • Darker nights
  • Euphoric Foggy Weather (only listed this one because it's my favorite weather condition)
  • Well balanced colors for a life-like presentation
  • Higher detail and more realistic ambiance
DISCLAIMERS:

It looks much better in game than the lower quality pictures I have posted. This is intended for mid-high end PC's. Also, I put all of my settings in the "My Graphics Settings" file. That will hopefully help everyone get it to the intended outcome (if your settings are any lower than mine). Thanks in advance for any feedback that is given!

PROMISE:

I will continue to experiment with other mod combinations and the shader menus to provide the best reshade + mod setup/collab I can put together for those who need that extra umph.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Reshade Natural Vision

Best TAA and Visual Effects
The Perfect TAA(only for V2)
all further instructions are within the "readme"

STRONG RECOMMENDATIONS:

Terrain Texture Overhaul (required for the best look)
Higher Resolution Vegetation (required for the best look)
Dynamic Seasons (right now, the shader is only for the vanilla/summer season. I am working on the others for both versions. For now, winter may look a little too blue and autumn may look a little too pink to some. To make season transitions feel more realistic without taking too long, I set Season_Length to 500 in the "seasons.ini")
Longer Days (to make time transitions look more realistic without taking too long, I set the 'Longer_days.ini' day-time and night-time options to 5.0)

TROUBLESHOOT:

  • In cases where the fog/shadows look a little iffy, just uncheck the "PPFX" option. Re-enable, at your leisure.
  • If there is ever a moment you want to disable the distance blur, uncheck the "ADOF" option. Re-enable, at your leisure. But, it makes close up gameplay look more cinematic.
  • The map, at certain zoom distances, has an effect. I tried to make it as tolerable as possible. To get it to do what I needed it to do that was a trade-off I had to accept, for now. If it is something you can not tolerate, turn off the "ADOF" option.
DUE CREDIT:

Thank you to every mod author of each individual mod listed that has helped me get that extra umph I really needed to fall back into the grasps of such a visual treat.
