I wanted a grimmer grittier old west feel to the game while still keeping the beautiful effects of the world around you.

First download ReShade here: https://reshade.me/
Follow the simple instructions and complete ReShade installation
Download my files and copy them into your Red Dead 2 directory (overwrite if asked)
Within my file "ReShade.ini" the directories may be listed in the location I have Red Dead Redemption 2 installed, if so, the following lines will need to be changed to your install location:
F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2\Beautifully Grim Old West.txt
F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2\reshade-shaders\Shaders
F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2\reshade-shaders\Textures
Open up the "ReShade.ini" file (with notepad) and change the above directory lines for the 'Shaders' & 'Textures' files, as well as the 'CurrentPresetPath' directory, to match your Red Dead Redemption 2 install location, save changes. (This can be done in-game using the ReShade menu if you are familiar with using that interface instead)
Start Red Dead Redemption 2, the ReShade Should now be active, Press 'Scroll Lock' to Activate or Deactivate the effect
Adjust 'TAA Sharpening' in Red Dead 2 graphics settings to your own personal preference
If the ReShade is not active do the following:
Press 'Insert' to bring up the ReShade menu
Select 'Beautifully Grim Old West' in the ReShade drop down menu in-game
