About this mod

Makes Micah's face younger and aims to make his body more muscular. Also makes him customizable with lots of clothing items from the outfit changer mod.

The way Micah carries himself and Arthur and some other characters talk with him always gave me the impression that at one point rockstar intended to have Micah be slightly younger and with a better physique. That alongside the fact that I wanted to make Micah look more "imposing" (which for me personally would be better fitting for the main antagonist) inspired me to create this mod

FACE TEXTURE
The face texture was provided by the amazing ReaSylvia, and it aims to de-age Micah so that he looks in his late 20s or early 30s and I think she did an amazing job accomplishing it. Of course, if you'd like you can also use this face texture completely independently, so with the original Micah or with other Micah cosmetic (ymt) mods as well (for example the Charlie Prince look). Also if anyone wants a custom texture of any sort, I encourage you to contact Rea on her discord (username: reasylvia) as she is open to accepting custom texture commissions.

BODY AND CLOTHING
The idea was to give him a better physique, keep the essence of his most iconic outfits while giving them a fresh spin, and to give him some new outfits to make his outfit variation a little more diverse. Now for the body change, the most optimal way was to change his skeleton to the RDO one (meta_base_mp_male) so that I had more options (regarding clothing compatibility) and for consistency reasons. But there are also downsides to this like:
-Micah's original clothing items are incompatible with this skeleton, so to keep the look of some of his original outfits, I had to remake those (hence why some are far more accurate than others as I had limited options)
-Slight clipping and occasional breakage in Micah's animations but mostly when he is wearing RDO clothing
-As mentioned most of his original clothing items are incompatible with the new skeleton, so I had to give him a new holster. It's still a dual-wield holster so I think it still looks good, but in cutscenes when he is holding his holster, his hand position will be placed as if the still has his original one

Even with all this being said all these issues are in my opinion neglectable and only noticeable if you're trying to focus on them. Even without modifications some of the issues that I listed are expected. I myself have used an early version of this ymt file for months (I originally created it only for me, before deciding to upload it) and I think it works fine. But again it's far from perfect so keep that in mind.

I also want to highlight that I haven't created any custom textures as I am not really profound in texture creation and I wanted to keep this just a simple ymt file. But I still tried my best to customize every item as much as ymt editing allows to try to make generic RDO clothes more unique and more story-mode-esque looking and to try to recreate some of his original textures while making them cleaner (they still look somewhat worn so that they still look authentic). But again to reiterate I was limited to what could be done, so these texturess are far from perfect but I did try my best.

And of course, just as with the face texture, you can use this clothing/body ymt independently, so you do not need to use the face texture if you don't want to.

INSTALLATION
First and foremost as listed under requirements you will need Lenny's mod loader and either the online content unlocker or the asi loader (version dll). Installing one of the latter should be straightforward and if you're having trouble with Lenny's mod loader check one of many youtube videos on how to install it. After installation, you should have a lml folder inside the RD2 folder, and then make sure that inside that lml folder, there is a folder called "stream" (if there is not, just create one).

For the face texture: download the file and put everything from it into the stream folder which should be inside your lml folder

For the body and clothing: download either the shaved version or the version with Micah's original beard. Then inside both of them, you will have two folders named "coat A" and "coat B". For an explanation as to what are the differences between these two coats, please read the next paragraph. After choosing a coat variation, open that folder and put everything from there into the stream folder.

COAT A AND COAT B
As stated before I had to basically redo all his outfits and I tried my best to remake most of his vanilla outfits but of course, since being limited by clothing compatibility, some of them are far more accurate than others. I mostly had trouble with outfits that utilize the long leather coat, mainly due to the coat itself as the only clothing items that were compatible and come close to the original one are the marshall coat and an unused variation of the marshal coat from RDO. And none of these are perfect so I considered scraping this coat all together, but then I figured that I can't do it since it might be Micah's most iconic coat. So here is a photograph showcasing these two coats

Coat A: has a better texture, fits better, and mostly has no compatibility issues, but covers one side of the holster

Coat B: has a worse-looking texture, and has compatibility issues (like legs phasing through the bottom when fast walking which is mostly evident if you decide to play as Micah), but its model is almost identical to the original one so it allows the whole holster belt to be visible
Also for coat B, I had to use a different vest for outfit 2 as evident in the picture below because of clipping issues.

As you can see, the coat A version has a vest that is much more identical to the original one. Regardless both versions are in my opinion somewhat good enough but I cannot choose which is better, so I decided that I will make both of them available so that you can choose which one you prefer.

MICAH COACH ROBBERY OUTFIT
I also customized his coach robbery outfit (picture in the gallery) but for him to use that outfit during that mission you will need the MicahRobbery.asi from Toast's Restored Pedestrian Pack by AClassySliceOfToast. This of course is completely optional.

PLAYING AS MICAH
Playing as Micah was not the main idea behind this mod, so if you decide to play as him then expect those issues that I highlighted earlier like clipping and occasionally broken animations (for example slightly broken-looking elbows when aiming) to be more persistent but again I made sure to minimize these problems as much as possible so I think unless you really focus on them, they are neglectable. But they are definitely more evident if you're playing as Micah. Also if you're not using proper mods when playing as NPC characters, then you will encounter lots of bugs/glitches with or without my mod. Here are some mods that I use to make the gameplay as Micah (or any other npc) work smoother and more enjoyable:

- Playable Van Der Linde Gang: will give Micah player properties like eating, drinking tonics, reload animations, etc...
- Jedijoshs trainer by Jedijosh: its function "play as npc" will give you the ability to properly greet and antagonize as the character that you're playing
- Companion Weapons (Bonus Old Lamp Restored): for Micah's revolvers
- Gang horses: for Micah's horse
Camp Anywhere: when playing as npc characters, the voice will revert to Arhutr/John after sleeping, but if you sleep via this mod then the voice won't revert
- Any trainer so that you can change to Micah and switch between outfits
Red Dead Redemption 2 Save Editor: in my opinion the best way to change the player model to an npc as it minimizes glitches and it also allows to change the model to Micah (or any NPC) permanently within a save
Immersive Scenarios: allows you to use npc animations (for example you can use one of Micah's gun cleaning animations in the gang camp)

Again these are just suggestions that can enhance your experience while playing as Micah, and some are more essential than others. But I definitely think that you should at least use a trainer and the playable van der Linde gang mod if you're intending to play as Micah (or any other NPC).

COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER MODS
Since this is just a simple cosmetic mod it works completely fine with every other mod. Even with those that change metapeds as with this mod, you will be changing the skeleton via a yft file. So again this mod should not have any compatibility issues.

OUTFITCHANGER COMPATIBILITY
As mentioned earlier his skeleton was changed to the MP one, which means you can customize Micah via the outfit changer mod by LMS. Of course, there are other attributes that determine clothing compatibility (not just the skeleton) so there are lots of items that won't work. For example, most vests, coats, and pants work but most shirts and neckwear don't. Lots of SP clothing (Arthur single-player clothing) can also work with Micah. There are many items on the outfit changer so I can't tell you from my memory which were compatible, so you will have to try it and see for yourself what works and what not. But in any case, lots of MP and SP clothing definitely work which means there are many options for customization.

FEEDBACK
Of course, I am open to any criticism/suggestions but again keep in mind that I tested like hundreds of clothing items in search of perfecting this mod. So if you notice something that could be improved, chances are I already tried it. Sadly I am limited to clothing compatibility and that's just how it is. But regardless any suggestions are welcome in the post section.

Also, I want to give a huge shoutout to DustyOatMilk for teaching me the basics of ymt editing.
