Difficulty mod. Similar to Deadly Deadfire but with other set of tweaks

Permissions and credits
This is a difficulty increasing mod. It expands vanilla upscaling, slightly nerfs few food items, and buffs several specific creatures and creature types.

For the best challenge you can couple it with:
- Ondra's Challenge
- Galawain's Challenge
- Skaen's Challenge (optional) (note: torches and lanterns increase fog reveal radius by 4m; but will also decrease your stealth)
- CommunityPatch: AntiCheese module (when it's ready)

Scaling Adjustments:
If you have scaling enabled, the mod now removes scaling down and only applies scaling up. The default scaling is similar to that of vanilla (enemies below your level are scaled to your level, up to +4 levels), with additional adjustments as follows:
  • Enemies 1-4 levels below you -> scale up to your level
  • Enemies 5-7 levels below you -> scale up to one level below you
  • Enemies 8+ levels below you -> scale up 6 levels

Note: I liked that Deadly Deadfire kept scaling enemies beyond a 4-level gap from vanilla, but this was rendering some effects (like Abjuration and Threatening Presence) useless, so I’ve added a 1-level lag behind to circumvent this.

Named Enemies Scaling:
Meanwhile named enemies will receive a bit more aggresive scaling:
  • Named enemies 0-4 levels below you -> scale up to 1 level higher than your character
  • Named enemies 5-7 levels below you -> scale up to your level
  • Named enemies 8+ levels below you -> scale up 7 levels

Food Adjustments:
  • Shark Soup: Instead of giving indefinite immunity to Body afflictions, it now provides immunity for the first 10 seconds of combat, followed by indefinite resistance.
  • Captain's Banquet: Instead of giving indefinite immunity to Mind afflictions, it now provides immunity for the first 10 seconds of combat, followed by indefinite resistance.
  • Wael's Wind: Instead of giving indefinite immunity to Mind afflictions, it now provides immunity for the first 15 seconds of combat, followed by indefinite resistance.

General Adjustments:
  • Torches now decrease Stealth of everyone within 4m of the bearer by 4, and by an additional 6 within 1.5m.
  • Lanterns now decrease Stealth of everyone within 4m of the bearer by 3, and by an additional 4 within 1.5m.

Creature Adjustments:
  • Increased Elder Tiger's base damage from 30-40 to 35-45
  • Increased Elder Panther's MIG from 10 to 12 and DEX from 17 to 22
  • Shadows now apply Chilling Touch (5s Hobble) effect on a successful melee attack (after attack vs Deflection, a roll vs Reflex is made)
  • Shades now apply Chilling Touch (5s Hobble) effect on a successful melee attack (after attack vs Deflection, a roll vs Reflex is made)
  • Shades now also apply a 6s Paralyze on successful Draining Freeze attack (after attack vs Deflection, a roll vs Fortitude is made)
  • Sand Blight (Lesser) base AR vs Pierce increased from 9 to 11
  • Sand Blight (Regular) base AR vs Pierce increased from 10 to 12
  • Sand Blight (Greater) base AR vs Pierce increased from 11 to 13
  • Flame Naga Archer's base DEX increased from 10 to 16
  • Rathun's Magran Blade cast/recovery time decreased from 4.5/3.0 to 4.5/2.0s
  • Rathun Keep Boss's base level increased from 13 to 16
  • Rathun Keep Guard's base level increased from 14 to 15, and base CON from 12 to 14

  • Urnox B****** (bounty): base level increased from 13 to 16
  • S** Dragon: base claw damage increased from 15-21 to 20-28
  • S** Dragon: base max health increased from 200 to 450
  • S** Dragon: Aquatic Breath base damage increased from 16-26 to 24-36
  • M**** Dragon: base deflection increased from -10 to 10
  • M**** Dragon: base max health increased from 240 to 640
  • M**** Dragon: Sulfur Stone base damage increased from 16-24 to 32-42
  • M**** Dragon: Tail Swipe base damage increased from 18-25 to 30-48
  • M**** Dragon: Fiery Breath base damage increased from 18-30 to 36-60
  • Con***haut's base level increased from 17 to 20, meaning he can now use 2 level 9 spells
  • U***** Guardian: base (claws) damage increased from 18-26 to 22-32
  • U***** Guardian: base deflection increased from -10 to 10
  • U***** Guardian: base max health increased from 180 to 720 (Note: defeating any of the megabosses overwrites this to 1315)



Installation:
  • as usual: download archive
  • unzip into /override folder, so it goes like this: <Pillars of Eternity II game folder>\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\override\PathOfTheMakers\manifest.json

Uninstall:
  • remove PathOfTheMakers folder from /override
