its really the opposite - video game people don't know how to draw women that aren't flawless and thats why she looks 'normal'. cute that you can't stand to see a woman who looks like she can fight tho rip
Women who can fight in actual battles with swords and shields are already a fantasy, so it's perfectly fine to create an actual beautiful woman to put in the armor.
We're here to have fun in a fantasy world, not live in one.
What in the actual f*#@ are you talking about? Gaming today specifically makes females ugly asf. Sounds like you got as much of a problem as you're projecting
And you don't get cognitive dissonance from a character who repeatedly states that they don't like being attractive wearing loads of makeup and jewellery? Or that she has long obviously, styled hair when she specifically says she hacks it off with a sword?
The mod barely changes the structure of her face, the only thing that would be plot relevant. It just adds vanity, stuff that Valerie would have to be doing herself to improve her looks. I literally couldn't come up with a better way of creating dissonance between the characters attitude and their appearance than adding better hair and makeup to the pre-existing face.
If you want a sexy tank that's your business, no judgment, but from a lore perspective this is a massive step backwards.
This. I don't understand how someone could rationalize this when clearly, the game story meant for her to be contrary. It simply comes down to preference of how one wants her to look versus the game. People truly can convince themselves of anything...
Her hair is roughly chopped, and by "styled" you mean "combed into a part"? That's styling hair now? And it can't have grown in a bit since she did that? Her "jewellery" is a headband, you know you can equip those to her in the game, right?
Sure, the make-up and longer hair throws off the newer one from the story, but her being so plain in the original game is pretty off as well. She's supposed to be so beautiful an entire religion thought she was a goddess' chosen representative.
That and her getting her face completely split open only to not even notice is silly. Her having such an extreme scar from a wound that should have been possibly lethal but somehow didn't even slow her down is distracting every time I look at it.
If they were going to give her such a huge scar, they could have at least had her have a realistic injury to go with it.
Really hoping the creator has a higher res version and can update the small version. Would be a massive improvement but kind of ruins it when she's so blurry.
I happen to think the mod is good. Kudos, don't let the cry babies and naysayers bug you. Her character is supposed to be physically attractive. She was mediocre at best before.
The only problem I am having is that I have a new computer (old one doesn't work). I was trying to get this downloaded but the rar extraction yields an empty folder.
Hey, I doubt you're still on this, but are you using Unity mod manager? It seems to be the recommended set-up and it wants the still zipped files dropped it.
I mean, Keira Knightly, Olivia Wilde, Gisele Bundchen, Margot Robbie, Jennifer Garner, Natalie Portman, and plenty of other women that are considered gorgeous all have massive jaws. I understand some people don't like big jaws, but the new version really only has that and medium length hair going for her. The eyes are too far apart, nose is too big, and the earrings seem really out of place considering her backstory.
I'd upload it if I could do so without having to provide a url link, but! today I found what I imagine to be the original image of this Valerie, and she is very barbarian like. Dressed in furs with a loincloth and a bow, whether you call that barbarian or amazon, either way, the vibe you got seems like it may be well founded!

Took me forever to find it. Figured I'd share the information.
