This keeps J'skar enabled, and gives him AI during his stay at the Arcane university.

J'Skar was always one of my favourite characters, but after *spoilers* he ends up being disabled for no good reason. This is a low-impact mod which simply keeps him enabled, and gives him AI during his stay at the Arcane university.

Those with Bruma Mages Guild Restored or Bruma Guild Reconstructed installed will be happy to learn that he will return to the guild after it is restored. 

Details:

  • Prevents the disable script at the beginning of "The Bloodworm Helm"
  • Adds AI while at the Arcane University (2 wander packages and a sleep package) (oddly there's nowhere to eat at the AU, and none of the AU mages ever eat)
  • If BMGR or BGR is installed, then he will return to the Bruma guild after it is restored and the quest "Confront the King" is completed. (Separate .esps provided) (2 wander packages, 2 eat packages and a sleep package and updates J'skar's script to handle the appropriate faction changes.)
  • Training and dialogue (rumors and mages guild) still work as expected.
  • Fixes 2 dialogues where he would talk about leaving Bruma and going to the IC when already in the IC

Instructions:

Use only one .esp!
  • J'skarRestored.esp will work whether you have a restoration mod installed or not, but will keep him at the Arcane University indefinitely.
  • J'SkarRestored for BrumaMGRestored.esp will only work with BMGR installed, and will have him return to the Bruma Guild after the restoration. (Load this after BMGR)
  • J'SkarRestored for BrumaGReconstructed.esp will only work with BGR installed, and will have him return to the Bruma Guild after the reconstruction. (Load this after BGR)


If installing this mod after J'skar has already been disabled (that is to say after beginning the quest "The Bloodworm Helm") you will have to re-enable him using the following 3 console commands while standing somewhere relatively normal:

Conflicts:

  • Likely any mod which edits J'skar 
  • Likely some mods which edit the mages guild quests "A Plot Revealed" or "The Bloodworm Helm"
  • Anything that changes the Imperial City or Bruma enough that he can't find his way around

Integration:

  • I will happily consider adding integration for any other mods (particularly those that restore the guild) upon request.

Dependencies:

  • Only tested with the Unofficial Oblivion Patch. I believe the BMGR and BMR integration requires a bugfix from UOP, without which J'skar would become trapped at the Arcane University.
