EDIT - 14 March 2011:
- Right now, I'm on hiatus from modding and playing Oblivion. My computer's getting old and full and it just can't take it right now. As such, I won't be updating this mod right now.

Name: Gem Staffs
Version: 1.0
Date: 2/24/2011
Category: Weapons and Armor
Author(s): Rinzei

Description
===========
A revamp of my old Crystal Staffs mod, it adds five new unenchanted staffs to the game, with an optimized mesh, reworked texture map, and regenerated normal map for a new feel.

Location
========
The staffs are available for purchase by a Breton woman named Aimee Beauchamp, presently residing in the Two Sisters Lodge in Skingrad.

There is also a chest available in the Testing Hall, if you'd rather acquire them that way.

Details
=======
After 2-year hiatus, I'm giving the mod scene another try. To start with, I'm getting back into practice by fixing my first mod, Crystal Staffs. I say it's version 2 - it's actually the way the mod was originally supposed to look. But because of my lack of knowledge of normal maps, specular maps, UV Mapping, etc, the original mod has a completely different feel to it. So this is going to be uploaded as a separate mod, rather than a version update.

Improvements/Changes:
- Reduced Texture Map - For what it was, the texture map before was WAY too big. It's been reduced to 512x512, with possibility for a larger one later.
- Fixed Mesh - Parts have been redone and the face-count has been cleaned up dramatically. It has a fourth of the faces it used to have.
- Baked Normal Map - What does this mean? The Normal Map has much greater detail now, as it was generated from a hi-poly model, rather than just filtered from the texture map
- New UV Map - Remapped for the new mesh, it now keeps things proportioned and no more ugly stretching on the crystals!
- Shaft - It's now thicker than before, per user suggestion. He was right - it WAS way too dainty!
- Transparency - The crystals now have some transparency, per user suggestion.

All of the staffs are unenchanted this time around, so you may use enchant them to your heart's content.

Incompatibility
===============
The only thing it might be incompatible with is anything that changes the interior or references for the Two Sisters Lodge in Skingrad. I personally use this with CM Partners NPCs, and everything appeared fine with both the companions added to the cell and the merchant NPC for this mod.

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
None, so far. Please let me know if you have any problems!

Licensing/Legal
===============

As with most of my mods, I don't mind if you use them in your own releases. All I ask is a few things:

1) Please give me credit for the mesh and texture. These were custom made by me, so make sure to credit me for them.
2) That they only be used in Oblivion mods. I don't want to see them converted to other games.
3) Contact me about your mod, whether you're just starting it, working on it, or finished with it. I'd love to see it, especially to link to anything you've finished.
