Info and installation

Install

Install with your preferred mod manager or extract manually into your Fallout New Vegas data folder.
Using OGG version, but not hearings the sounds? You may need this one.

Load Order Notes & Compatibility

3D roomtone system slightly conflicts with interior lighting overhaul mods. I’d recommend loading interior lighting overhaul above this mod (higher load order)
Works with any other ambience mod, since the new sounds are mostly added as worldspace sound emitters.

Performance

Zero to very minimal impact in frames per second. Minor impact on system memory usage.
Check to have similar values under [audio] in FALLOUT.ini and FalloutPrefs.ini, if you run into issues.
iAudioCacheSize=2048
iMaxSizeForCachedSound=256

Other

Volume balancing were made with all sound sliders at 100% except "Music". Optimal balance with music depends on the version (Subtle, Balanced etc)
The directional sound system gives the sound verticality, instead of just horizontality. Hence the name was inspired by Dolby Atmos system.
Sounds are generally sampled at 48kHz, providing more clarity to higher frequency sounds than the usual vanilla 32kHz
I’ve mixed some of the sounds to go deep as 20hz, so fellow home theater or subwoofer users are in for a treat.
Be sure to info any issues you may find, and I'll gladly take a look at it in time.

Great mod to give room for ambience and to make music less repetitive.
Amazing for headphone users and a excellent compliment to this mod.
Highly recommended, even as this mod partially does the same.
Simple mod to mix well the new Strip ambience.
ATMOS ambient coverage for Fallout 3 TTW

 Future plans.

  • Further develop more sounds for neglected and already improved environments
  • Carry the same overhauls and additions for other mods (AWOP, NV Interiors etc)
  • Soundscape overhauls for DLC content.
  • Tweaks with sound formats and functionality
