About this mod

Small rebalances, mainly aimed to make the game slightly harder, and stats more effective.

Changelogs
A collection of random rebalancing, mainly aimed at making the game more challenging, but not overwhelmingly so.

  • All skills have a base start of 0. Now, this doesn't mean you won't have *any* skills when first starting out, but you do not get a +5 bonus when making a new character.
  • Skill points from your SPECIAL are much more effective, making putting points into a certain stat much more effective. Each point in a SPECIAL stat gives you a +2 to their respective skills.
  • Tag bonuses will give you an additional skill point when leveling them up, and also gives you 20 points as opposed to 15.
  • Luck gives a +1 to all stats.
  • Health multipliers have been altered. Endurance now gives 10 health points per point of Endurance, instead of 5. Leveling up now only increases your health by 2, instead of 5. These same changes also affect NPCs.
  • Radiation Resistance can now reach 100%, fully negating all radiation.
  • Armor Rating (DR) was raised from 85 to 100. However, this will not make you immune to damage. The maximum amount of damage you can take, at max DR, will be 10%, versus Vanilla's 20%.
  • Fatigue points now start at 100 for both the player and NPCs.
  • Your weapon will follow your cursor, regardless if you're looking up or down. Previously, they would stop following the cursor when looking all the way up or down.
  • Carry Weight has been changed dramatically. In Vanilla, your base carry weight would be 150, plus 10 points per point invested in strength. Now, your carry weight will start at 25, but putting points into strength now gives you a bonus of 25 per point, making strength-modifying equipment and chems that much more effective.
  • Action points have also been changed. In Vanilla, your Action Points start at 65, and per point of Agility, would raise it by 3. Now, it starts at 50, and each point of Agility raises it by 5. A subtle change that won't be very noticeable during normal gameplay.
  • Some perks were altered. The list is as follows:
  • Life Giver now has 3 ranks, awarding 25/50/75 hit points.
  • Action Boy/Girl have been buffed to give an additional 25 AP per level.
  • Toughness now gives you 5/10 DT instead of 3/6.
  • Lead Belly has 3 ranks, inspired by Fallout 4. At Rank 3, you will (theoretically) take no Radiation damage from eating contaminated food. (It may still give you Radiation, but only a single point.)
  • Adamantium Skeleton has 3 ranks, inspired by Fallout 4. Each rank will reduce limb damage by 50/75/100%. Note: Your limbs can still be crippled at Rank 3, but it will be much harder to do so (theoretically).
  • Stone Wall gives you 15 DT against melee/unarmed instead of 5.
  • Heave, Ho! now has 2 ranks, each increasing thrown velocity by 50%.

Some recommendations:

  • Lowering skill points gained per level. This can be done with Stewie's Tweaks, and I suggest having a base of 5 skill points with each point of Intelligence granting 1 point. Also, removing the level cap.
  • A backpack mod, I recommend CIBS since it integrates backpacks into vendors and enemies.
  • A mod to increase ingested radiation. Several mods do it, but I personally use Water Overhaul by PushTheWinButton with the ingested radiation set to a factor of 5. (Sounds high, but not many things in-game give you a lot of radiation.)

INCOMPATIBILITIES:

  • Some changes in YUP to how the game handles Perks will not take effect when using this mod. Functionally, there won't be much change, but YUP ensures the perks *only* work in their use cases, whereas I edited vanilla values. Use at your own discretion. If you do not like the perk changes, you may delete the records in xEdit.
  • Any other mod that alters how you gain Skill Points. I know Limitless Stats doesn't like when you change the Tag values, so they won't kick in properly when using that mod.
  • JSawyer Ultimate Edition. It's a much more comprehensive rebalancing mod, but I found it to be a bit too overwhelming, and changed far too many things in Vanilla.
