About this mod

Speeds up the melee recoil/stagger animations from 1.1 seconds to 0.3 seconds, greatly improving the flow of melee combat.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
I absolutely love how powerful melee and unarmed are in Fallout: New Vegas.

However, there was one long-standing issue that completely ruined the feel and flow of melee combat: The absurdly long stagger animation that occurs when an enemy blocks one of your melee attacks.

So I decided to crack open Nifskope and edit the animation text keys for the 1hm/2hm/h2hrecoil.kf animation files from the base game and a couple animation mods, and shorten the animation length from an absurd 1.1 seconds to just 0.3, in order to make melee combat far more responsive and much less of a slog.

REQUIREMENTS (ONLY FOR THE MOD PATCHES)

-SIGMA - Melee animation overhaul - Chapter 1 - kNVSE by Sigerious
-Butcher Pete Complete - A Melee Animation Overhaul by rockbiter68
-Wasteland Warrior - A Melee Animation Overhaul by rockbiter68
-Unarmed Animations by Januusz
-Titans of the New West 2.0 by Wombat
-Assume the Position - An Unarmed Animation Overhaul - Part 1 by rockbiter68
-FNV Clean Animations - Ripper by rockbiter68

INSTALLATION

Install normally through the mod manager of your choice. Make sure to load the mod patches after the original files.

ISSUES/LIMITATIONS

Due to the way the animations were edited, there is snapping between animations when going from recoil to idle. But this is relatively minor, given that the unnecessary length of said animations was the main concern.

CREDITS AND SPECIAL THANKS

Special thanks to Luke/AbbaAltmer for bringing this issue in the vanilla game to my attention, Sigerious, Johnsonn, Rockbiter and Wombat for the excellent work on their animation mods, ItsMeJesusHChrist/LOC for the Pip-Boy icon used in the mod image, and Bethesda/Obsidian for giving me something to do.
