I don't have any issue running this with Viewmodel Shake Fix like others have reported, but an issue I do have, is that when un-aiming while using this mod, the weapon viewmodel jumps about 30 degrees vertically for a single frame, which is very jarring. If specifically that could be fixed, this mod would absolutely be a winner to me.
Apologies for forgetting about this, I had an example uploaded to imgur to show to help you in figuring this out. Happens even if I do not use Viewmodel Shake Fix or Smooth True Iron Sights
I don't know if this can solve the issue, but using the mod Smooth True Iron Sights Camera by iStewieAI and enabling on iStewieAI's Tweaks and Engine Fixes the line: bSmoothIronsightsCameraTransition = 1, solved or at least that solved the viewmodel vertically jumping for me, maybe if you can try it out
Oh, really? I hadn't noticed it before. It seems I didn't do further research in B42 inertia ini.My intention isn't to make a mod with the same feature.
Just tested myself on clean install + requirements only. Works as expected. It might not be working if there is some 3rd party mod replacing/overwriting inertia config, that has IS inertia turned off.
B42 IS inertia just sort of moves behind the camera, it doesnt have the same kind of rotation that you get while the weapon is lowered, whereas this mod has some nice rotation to it
The IS inertia most are looking for is like this preview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22XCxVEk2NU. Which this mod provides and has not been functioning with even a clean install vnv only with b42 inertia on a default config.
But that's what config is for. Anyone can tune inertia according to their preferences. As for inertia with "it hits where it points" - everyone can forget about it, it's not gonna happen.
What would be the adjusted config settings for making the IS intertia much more noticeable like in the example video posted above? I was under the same impression that there was no IS Inertia before the confirmation. Seems nonexistent on default settings.
doesn't seem non-existent to me, but idk. Tastes differ. As for which settings: open the config. It's self-explanatory. Ramp-up global values and voila
ahh I see where the confusion is lol There's no inertia within the actual iron sights (the front sight and the ring). They're completely still. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that you're talking about the inertia of the gun itself whereas everyone else is talking about the iron sights.
Oh, you mean the pivot point of rotation. And I am talking about ironsights. It wasn't done that way because it'd confuse people even more. Rotating sights would make aiming even less coherent than it already is (because no, it doesn't matter where your gun points, you hit center of screen + spread + wobble pattern). So it's a choice I made and have to live with =D
Yup, nothing against that choice & it's understandable. There's just confusion because everyone thinks you are referring to the front sight moving past the rear sight when aimed in. Glad it's all cleared up tho
Yea but that pivot is what everyone is mentioning because it aesthetically looks nice and this mod provides such. I do understand the limits of modding in fnv though.
The pivot is what we want, tbh. I want the front sight of the gun to lead because it looks nice and that's how modern FPS games do it. Even if my aim doesn't go where that pivot point is. It just looks nice and it's what my brain remembers when I think of "weapon inertia"
I like this a lot and prefer it over B42 but the jumps are way to noticeable above 60fps, it looks really bad and jagged, i like the gun pivoting a lot more than moving the whole viewmodel but its practically unusable if it looks like its shaking
After comparing some other games, I found that inertia should not work like this mod. Thank you for pointing that. I have less experience with such mod and will try to do further research and improve when I'm free
This is a unofficial game translation that comes with a font.I don't think there is a standalone version which provides the same font in the form of mod.
What is the mod name / link for the mod for the first weapon that looks like a Sten with a holo sight? I'd also like to get my hands on the third and fifth ones please.

nope, on the contrary, by default it's on.

Would you be willing to make a version that only covers iron sight weapons and doesn't touch the scoped weapons?
