No, it's not needed per se. The differences between this mod and JSawyer Ultimate's Optional File is that this also includes Super Stimpaks, the feature where Stimpaks cure poisons is actually borrowed from JSUE.
I really made this for myself because I use Vicious Wastes and wanted to be able to use its Stimpak variants in the menus. It started out as just that, but I decided to widen the scope to support all mods and add Super Stimpak variants to the pool as well.
If you do decide to use this instead of JSUE's file, make sure you load it after JSawyer Ultimate.esp in your load order. They both edit the Default Object Manager so this mod needs to overwrite that one in order to work.
Just to make sure, so your mod only affect Pip-Boy Stats menu and Companion Wheel, while SawyerBatty - Just Assorted Mods Patch affect weapon wheel, that's why both mods can be used together right?
