This mod makes regular Weapon Repair Kits only repair non-energy Big & Small Guns.
A new type of Repair Kit, which can be crafted and found in certain leveled lists, only repairs Energy Weapons (including Proton Axes)
Weapon Repair Kit
Spoiler:
Show
Now weighs 4 pounds instead of 1 pound.
Thought Process: This is because the components separately weigh 5 lbs; they have a higher encumbrance and lower value-to-weight ratio. In-game, the player character is theoretically combining or forming the scrap metal/electronics into the appropriate parts used to repair the weapon, obviously discarding whatever scrap is not used during repair. After the Repair Kit is crafted, the player character carries it around in the box seen used in the model. I think 4 pounds is a great compromise between realism and gameplay. Now you can't get easy caps for less weight simply by crafting Repair Kits.
Requirements to craft: 50 Repair Skill 2 Scrap Metal 1 Wrench 1 Wonderglue 1 Duct Tape
*Vanilla Weapon Repair Kits have the same requirements plus 1 Scrap Electronics, but only Energy Repair Kits require Scrap Electronics with this mod.
This mod (and the guide provided) is intended for people who are creating their own modular repair system or who just want a simple immersive repairing system. My intention was to make this mod feel like the vanilla game but more hardcore.
Other popular repair mods may not be compatible with TTW or simply do too much that you don't want them to do.
HOW:
Alternate Versions: (use one file only)
Default Version = Allows you to use Repair Kits while in combat.
Non-combat = You cannot use repair kits while in combat.
Here's a guide to have a simple immersive repair system:
Optionally, you can use these mods/settings for a more hardcore experience: - No Repair In Combat
- JIP LN NVSE Plugin Use the following settings in the "jip_nvse.ini"...
"bEnableFO3Repair=1" Brings FO3-style repair to NV. Max repair of items is capped to the player's (Repair Skill * 0.6) + 40. For example, with 50 skill, items can only be repaired for up to 70% of their max health, as opposed to 100% as before, regardless of skill level.
"bPreventRepairIfNotAtWorkbench = 1" only can repair things if at a workbench
"bRequireWorkbench = 1" only can modify weapons if at a workbench
Requirements & Compatibility:
This mod requires TTW. If anyone wants a non-TTW version, let me know!
If you're using custom weapons or weapons added by mods (other than TTW) they won't work as I needed to create custom form lists for the energy and non-energy weapons affected by repair kits. If the weapon in question is not in the custom form list, it will not work with repair kits.
If there is a weapon you want me to add to this mod, let me know!
