Curious how much it would take for me to add other modded skill books/magazines to the list/script, I see that you have formid lists for each item type. Would I just need to create my own form-id list, and (read) versions of the books, in the same format and then copy it into my own esp patch?

The mod in question that I am talking about is:

S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Magazines and Books at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community (nexusmods.com)

Would require you to inject into the formlist the books, by editing the original lists with xEdit/GECK. It's more risky by script because if the script triggers after my 'start game' script, it won't work well (i use a script to set the names, value, weight, 3D model and icon of the read versions automatically so any change from another mod to the original book is transfered into the 'read' versions). If you want to inject the item into formlists by script, the misc item 'read' version needs to be properly created following stats and visuals of the original ones so even if my script is executed before your 'injection to formlists' script 'read' versions will have proper stats.
Be careful: the position in the list is important. For example, if you put a new skillbook into the list at rank 4, the used version (misc item) in the other list needs to be rank 4 too. But it should definitely work.
Don't hesitate to release a patch for this mod, looks awesome.

Been looking for something like this for a long time, but the Nexus search as well as the web search engines are too retarded to find what I want.

    Thanks for the mod!

I tried to give my mods obvious names, most on the time but I agree sometimes it's not easy XD

    Questions:

    • Does this have support for TTW?
    • Does the used version of the books have weight or weightless?

From what I've experienced it does work with TTW, only downside is you can't turn in the books to the scribe at the library, even if you have pre-war books on you both Unread and read, it wont register as the "quest item".

      But it does work.

It's to avoid economy unbalance. Be able to read it and selling it,... Too easy money and skills... Now if you want the money value, you just need to not use them, like in vanilla game.
On a more lore part, I don't know what happen to them when you read them. Maybe you're too clumsy and tear the page... ;)

But you can use the 'fUsedValueMult' into the ini file to tweak the value to your liking.

Compatible with TTW? EDIT: At a glance, looks like it'll need patching for FO3 stuffs perhaps, not done a deep dive P:

Je conseille le mien (le premier) bien évidemment XD.
Le deuxième est un patch pour un autre mod (First aid Reborn), qui est très bien aussi mais manque de mise à jour et demeure assez instable.
