Spoiler:
Show
  • The type of buff depends mostly on the source food, for example Radroach improves your Max Health, Ants your Carryweight, etc
  • Food effects magnitude is often derived from their ingredients
  • Longer duration than vanilla, closer to modern Fallout (4-10 minutes from vanilla 2)
  • New foods are added to leveled lists & OWB perk list
  • 6 of them need to be unlocked finding their recipe around the Mojave. 3 in the Capital Wasteland
  • Effects have been added to vanilla items for consistency and to make them more worthwhile
  • A couple of new recipes added for vanilla foods
  • Some vanilla foods that could not be found around the world have also been added to lists
  • Yao Guai recipes will only be available if you've visited Zion or have meat on you
  • Mirelurk recipes will only be available if you have mirelurk meat on you
  • New buffs: Extra XP (5, 10 & 15%) extra DMG (15%) slower hunger & thirst, water breathing, half gun spread
  • Different bonus of the same type can stack (XP +5% & XP +10% = XP +15,5%)
  • New food weights are calculated depending on the weight of vanilla items in your game
  • New perk (Gutter) to discover in the world that lets you find extra ingredients in animals you kill
  • Perk is added through a book, with 15 of them scattered around the Mojave or Capital Wasteland
  • You need a minimun knowledge of Survival to understand the book
  • The Second book you read will improve your Survival skill, the rest will work as skill magazines (Survival books are the more scarce in the game)

Some foods & buffs have been inspired by Fallout 4 & 76 and three are taken from the game Kenshi.

Detailed mod info can be found here.

Compatibility: This mod will conflict with other mods that change the same foods. It has native support for Tale of Two Wastelands.

  • TTW patch adds 3 of the recipes and 15 mod books to the Capital Wasteland.
  • TTW and sawyerbatty patch does the same and resolves minor conflicts with any jsawyer mod.

Requirements:

Recommended with this mod:

Food Effect Tweaks - Custom Food Healing - Allows to customize the amount of healing on foods
Hardcore Needs - Adds detrimental effects to chems
Pipboy in pictures is Pip-Boy 2000 Mk VI

Minor stuff to consider:

Some displayed effects will be inaccurate due to how the game handles them. Mostly radroach and gecko recipes which increase your maximun HP/AP, the game displays these effects as recovery effects, so if an item restores 2 HP per second and gives +10 max HP, it will show +12 HP/s. They work as intended nonetheless, to see them properly check your effect list on pipboy > stats. Also some effects cannot display their duration.
