Fallout New Vegas

About this mod

The Dusty company has arrived to the Mojave! This mod adds a simple and lore-friendly mercenary system. If you're tired of the usual companions, want to do a non-fighter character or just need some more fire power in your squad, this is your mod.

If you were playing in an older version and want to update, you'll need a clean save. To make a clean save for the mod you need to:
1 - Load your game, dismiss all your mercs, go to a different interior cell and save
2 - Exit game and remove the old version from your load order
3 - Load the previous save without the mod and save again (<-that's clean save)
4 - Install the new version, load the clean save and play normally

  • Mercenaries now earn xp in battle
  • XP points depend on number of enemies, duration of the battle and damage taken
  • They earn more XP as the player levels up
  • Lower tier mercenaries level up 40-20% faster than tier 3 mercenaries

  • They demand a weekly salary, counting since the day they were hired
  • Their salary is reduced by your barter skill and their trust in you

  • They get experience in battle
  • Their trust in you improves with time and interactions

  • You can give them basic wait and follow commands, directly or through a radio
  • The radio gives global order to all your hired mercs
  • They have their own storage, but won't use anything you put in it
  • When they leave or die, your stored equipment is given back to you
  • You can help them with stimpaks, antivenoms, chems and drugs
  • They can be dismissed at any time
  • They'll teleport to you if they get too far away, configurable (default ON)

  • Higher tier mercs have better gear. Their gear also depends on player level

  • You can repair their weapon with repair kits
  • You can buy new weapons and helmet for them
  • Commanders will sell some gear
