Right off the bat, don't worry, I'm probably not going to request to have all my files removed from the Nexus but that being said, I'm not particularly enthused about the idea of Collections either. Though I understand and appreciate NexusMods' stated reasons for introducing the concept, I don't like being unable to delete my files, or the prospect of having to deal with increased negative interactions from people who acquired my content by way of the Collections without reading the Description page, or the painstakingly-crafted Wiki, complaining that the mod isn't working. And although I'm fully aware that Endorsements are just fake Internet points, when it feels like every comment is a request demand for tech support, sometimes that little number ticking up by one is enough to keep me going. And with people soon to be bypassing the site entirely, there's sure to be fewer Endorsements in my future. I generally try not to be an alarmist type, but as a creative, even the possibility of having control of my work taken away from me is deeply unnerving. This is precisely why I don't opt in to Donation Points, accept requests, or take on commissions - so that nobody has leverage over what I make and when.

So, what am I going to do?

The standalone releases will probably continue as usual, since they serve as a useful beta test to root out any game-breaking bugs before I add them to the Mega-Pack. However, as of now, updates to my "major" mods (i.e. the Mega-Packs, their unique vendors, the Customizable Companion Framework, etc.) will only be released on the Wiki. Moving forward, I plan to upload dummy files to the Nexus (containing only a text document with a link to the latest version) so that people tracking the mod will still get notified when a new version is available, but the actual content itself will be hosted off-site.

I'm sorry if this makes things more inconvenient for you, but considering that I'm making this content and providing it to the community for free, control over its distribution was the only thing I had. With even that being taken away, the only other course of action left to me would be to stop providing the content, which I don't really want to do. Over the years, I've enjoyed many positive interactions with members of the community who offered encouragement, constructive criticism, and many of whom decided to try their hand at modding, citing my work as their inspiration. I don't want that to stop, and nuking my files could only result in that one outcome. So, as a compromise, I'm hoping this new arrangement will be acceptable, even if not ideal. I may lose downloads to this decision, but if you're one of the few who are willing to stick with me, I hope my mods will (continue to?) enrich your game for many years to come.

I understand your decision and want to again say thank you for your hard work and effort. An inconvenience for me will not dissuade me from using your mods and updates in the future, I just wish we both weren't in a situation like this.

Thank you for your support, patience, and understanding! People like you are the reason I share my mods in the first place.
