Author notes
My stance on modding is that we all do it for the good of the games we make :)
This mod is supposed to be free, forever, for everyone. Feel free to use it, change it, update it, re-upload it etc. I will merge in any suggestions people have for improvements that I deem feels good. As long as you don't sell it, and tell people you build further on what I created, it's all fair game.
A link back to this nexus page and a mention of my user name here (if nothing else is specified) is enough attribution.
I am happy if you reach out to use any of the material herein, and I am happy to help if needed with adapting it, but don't feel you have to reach out.
If you want to use it for commercial use, let me know and we can talk it through.

Modernized 1st Person Experience
For MWSE
Head bobbing in the images above are a bit exaggerated to be visible in gifs. The default tweak is more reasonable.
Description & Features
This mod adds a bunch of procedural camera animations to modernize the 1st person experience in the game. It also has some stuff for 3rd person, as a bonus on top 😊
The mod features:
🙂↕️ Beautiful head bobbing with eye stabilization to the camera for 1st (main focus) and 3rd person with different feel for Walking, Running, Levitating, Swimming and Sneaking.
💨 Head bobbing speed is determined by your characters movement speed, mapped to a decaying curve so it never gets out of hand.
🎵 Syncs footstep audio with the head bobbing motion. This is fully compatible with other mods (like Character Sound Overhaul).
🦪 Subtle ambient perlin noise based movement to the camera at all times.
🛼 View rolling, where the camera tilts a bit in the direction the player is strafing.
🙋 Body inertia where the arms rotate slightly after the body.
👀 Peek around corners in both 1st and 3rd person. Default keys are 'C' and 'V' (rebindable).
Everything is tweakable from an easy to use MCM within the game.
The mod is still being worked on, so more features to come!
Left: Perlin noise. Right: View rolling when strafing
The video is of an old version of the mod (v.1.0). I haven't had time to make an up to date one yet.

Installation and removal
This is a pluginless MWSE mod, and as such neither require or include any .esp. Make sure you have MWSE properly installed, and run the MWSE updater (found in your Morrowind installation folder when MWSE is installed) to get the latest version.
I highly recommend using a mod installer (like Mod Organizer 2), in which case you just download and activate the mod.
If you don't use a mod installer, make sure to put the "Modernized 1st Person Experience" folder in "Morrowind\Data Files\MWSE\mods".
To remove the mod:
Just uncheck the mod in MO2, or make sure to delete the mod from your MWSE folder
Compatibility
This mod is technically compatible with Steadicam, but now this mod implements (in a different, more detailed, more modern and frame rate independent way) body inertia on its own. I don't really recommend using Steadicam together with this mod anymore as it might conflict with eye stablization, but if you do because you like the smoothing on the camera, remember to turn of the body inertia feature in that mod.
Should be compatible with most other mods, unless they do something similar to what this mod does.
Recommended mods together with this one
The goal of this mod is to ground the player in the world to increase immersion and feel of presence. It works on its own, but I designed it to be used along side the following mods:
ReAnimation V1: Beautiful first person animations. Find the V1 files for vanilla engine on the download page.
Character Sound Overhaul: A very immersive and grounding audio experience, where footsteps react to the material you step on, what armor you are wearing. Plus a bunch of other good sound replacers.
