A Themed Set of Quests for the Balmora Tribunal Temple


This mod was inspired by the theme Fables & Foibles for the Morrowind May Modathon. It adds a Temple questline to Balmora given by Dralval Andrano, the apothecary. During the mini-questline, you will have the opportunity to test an unusual potion, the Potion of Animal Articulation, that enables communication with animals. Through conversing with the local friendly wildlife—guar, scrib, and netch—you will be able to lend a hand to several creatures in need.

There are five major quests and a sixth minor quest that sends you to the Ald'ruhn Temple for another similar-level questline. Being based out of Balmora, expect to explore some familiar and not so familiar locales in the surrounding area. The questline is suitable for low-level characters, especially if completed in the order below:
  • Broken Apparatus
  • Animal Articulation
  • Guar Troubles
  • The Scrib and the Nix-hound
  • A Netch in Molag Amur
  • The Road to Ald'ruhn


Requirements

This mod requires Tamriel Data. Otherwise, it is just an .esp file.


Animals

You may be wondering which animals you can talk to. Here's the list of default friendly creatures:
  • Guar (wild & domesticated)
  • Scribs (wild, diseased & blighted)
  • Netch (betty & bull, wild & domesticated)
  • Velk from Tamriel Data
And creatures that are normally hostile but can be calmed with Calm Creature:
  • Feral guar
  • Mudcrab
  • Nix-hound
  • Alit
I could easily expand this in theory, but it's only a useful feature for this questline, so I didn't see the need to make it universal. Consider the hostile creatures and velk as bonuses, since you're likely to run into them in low-level zones.


Compatibility

The advantage of choosing Dralval Andrano instead of Master Feldrelo Sadri and making no object edits to the Balmora Temple cell means that this mod is likely compatible with any other mod adding quests there or reconfiguring the building.

Most of the questline is implemented through dialogue and scripts, but there were a few object placements in Tharys Ancestral Tomb, Adanumuran, and the exterior Molag Amur cell where the cave Nissintu is located. No objects were moved or deleted. Additionally, all quest-related creatures are not enabled from the start of the game, so don't worry about accidentally killing them or having them clutter the worldspace.
