Starwind: Knights Of The Old Republic
This is a wabbajack modlist built upon the Morrowind mod, Starwind. It being a wabbajack modlist means that you install it via wabbajack, and wabbajack does everything from downloading to installing for you, as well as the structuring of the mods. Starwind itself is a massive mod, basically an entire game on its own, that is based on the Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic series. To sum it up, Starwind has a lot of content, hundreds of quests, new Star Wars based weapons like vibroblades and such, force powers, the choice to be a Jedi, a smuggler, maybe a bounty hunter, and even a large open world to explore in the same sandbox design of Morrowind, but Star Wars.

Starwind also grants access to a personal freighter, able to fly around to and from planets, exploring the space between, and contains randomly generated traffic between planets, letting you talk to cargo ships, smugglers, maybe a bounty hunter, and even interact with them in different ways. To sum it up, Starwind tries to be the open world Star Wars RPG we've always wanted, complete with the jankiness of being made in 2002, or even 1999.

This modlist, Starwind: Knights Of The Old Republic, seeks to enhance the game, adding more content and fixing certain issues that haven't been fixed. Using mods like Starwind Community Patch, to fix minor bugs, Starwind Sabers Plus to allow the customization of lightsabers, Starwind HD Upscaled to enhance the textures and improve the graphical quality, Better Bodies from Starwind Enhanced and Starwind Enhanced to add even more content, fixes, and changes to make the game feel less janky and look less dated. It even comes with new walking and running animations from Simply Walking, allowing for more natural looking movement, and better first person combat animations, that way the look of combat isn't as stiff and rigid.

There's also minor combat changes, using mods like Solthas Combat Pack to give enhanced combat mehcnaics such as directional attacks, an air dash, and a jump dodge. It adds more modern gameplay that enhances some aspects of combat. The modlist also includes a mod called Better Balanced Combat that removes the hit chance mechanic of Morrowind, if such a mechanic isn't your favorite, and it gives boosts to damage that way the lack of hit chance is replaced by slightly increased damage. if you play on a normal difficulty. If you like Morrowind's hit chance combat, fret not, just disable the mod in the mod manager, and you'll be good to go.

The main intention behind the Starwind: Knights Of The Old Republic modlist is to fix minor bugs, add new features, and add more content, along with additional things like improved animations, graphics, and gameplay, that way the janky feel of the game is kind of removed, but not entirely. The modlist also has a small focus on customization, allowing players to pick and choose which mod in certain aspect of the list they'd like to have enabled. Making Starwind be less of a mod, and more of an experience, just like if it was a game itself.

Before downloading the list, I recommend taking a look at the README for additional details and notes, along with a setup guide since this is an OpenMW focused modlist, which means you need OpenMW downloaded. Because this is a wabbajack modlist, you will also need to download and use wabbajack for this.

Installing Wabbajack

It's not that hard honestly.

  • After you get the exe, run it so you can download wabbajack.

  • When wabbajck is installed, then download the wabbajack file from here, click on "Install From Disk" in wabbajack, or open the wabbajack file with wabbajack.

  • The "Target Modlist" section should be the modlist's title. "Modlist Installation Location" will be where the modlist is installed. For example, make a folder called "Starwind" wherever you want, maybe it's "D:\Starwind" for example, and then make a downloads folder simply named "downloads". the file path would look like "D:\Starwind\downloads". Here's an image example if you need it.
  • After that, press the play button in wabbajack.

That's how you would start downloading the modlist. If you have any kind of issue, I recommend looking at the wabbajack subreddit, the wabbajack discord (link in subreddit), or looking at the wabbajack wiki for answers. I can't really help if there any issue with the wabbajack app itself since I don't make it. Upon testing, it works fine for me. The only other thing I can say is you will need to let wabbajack log in to your nexus account, and Nexus Premium is recommended, otherwise you will have to clikc download a lot. Thankfully it isn't that much compared to most modlists, but it's still clicking download some 84 times. And the 5 mb/s download limits. Which is a handful when the list is about 50 GB, large.

Anyway, that's it. That's all I have to say, but just before I leave and you go off prancing about, I will say one more time, look at the README. It has some extra setup stuff you will need.
