I second them being used for fast travel. Could actually have made a really cool game mechanic to have caught one on the move, and hitched a ride in the middle of wherever it was dynamically going to help fast track you to the nearest town. I don't think this has ever been done in a Bethesda game but its like that surprise and delight moment that we all appreciate from "radiant encounters"
