Considering this mod is the 'only mod' I added to my current playthrough recently.. in just about 5-10 minutes of gameplay running around.. it starts to stutter my 60 fps down to 46 interiors.. and it doesn't matter if the fps is good, the game chugs to a stop every half second while moving.. so maybe its continuous running scripts not ending themselves or checking too often, perhaps this mod isn't up to date with latest 2.1 MWSE nightly, or incompatible with that.

The execution of the mod (what it does) is great. It handles conversation great, in many ways. I think its worth it if someone found a way to update the mod, or I need to look for a patch or something that fixes the chugging. It doesn't show up until you run around talking a while in the same area. I quickly completed the beginner fargoth questing, which was enough to do it. Maybe anyone else confirm same findings?

Hey, thanks for the report. I haven't been checking... anything about morrowind/modding for a while so yeah, this was made for a three-years-ago version of MWSE. I can't promise to fix it right away, because I don't know what that involves, but I'll add the warning in the main page and if I can get it fixed up, I'll update.

I really love this mod, but I've found that I need to blacklist npcs in order to get through some conversations with LGNPC installed, and unfortunately blacklisting is just not working at all for me. The npc's id matches what I have blacklisted but that's not having any effect and the mod works on them the same as anyone. I've reloaded and relaunched the game but I can't figure out how to make the blacklist function. Any idea of a fix for this?

Love this mod. Unfortunately, a lot of errors seem to spring up in my mwse log, and I've had a few crashes related to this mod. Doesn't seem to work well with Customizable MWSE Multi Mark and Harder Recall. I noticed that my dialogue box freezes less without this mod as well. Also seems like the author is MIA, which is a shame. Still a great mod despite everything though.

See if changing this function, from:
      local function refreshRepeatedTopicsList(npcRefe)
          data.npcData[npcRefe.id].info = nil
      end
      to:
      local function refreshRepeatedTopicsList(npcRefe)
          local npc = data.npcData[npcRefe.id]
if not npc then return end
          npc.info = nil
      end

      fixes your error spam.

    Excellent mod.
Would love a companion\follower exclusion option, or a way to reduce the time it takes for the offended to calm down

    'Offense/persuasion limitation. '

Wow, that's what I was looking for. Those endless attempts at admiring are a game breaker. Is it possible to run your mod with only that feature enabled?
And: Is it compatible with 'Visible Persuasion Chance'?

      Hi!
Umh... you mean like reading makes you a better speaker because you learn better how to communicate with words? Nope, nobody has suggested that actually and I hadn't thought about it. I think it's a pretty good idea!

I'd have to think how to make it inmersive... It always bugged me how the game consider you insta-read an entire book just because you opened it. Hmmmm... maybe using some sort of menu like the sleeping one to choose the amount of hours reading or something...? Right now it's completely out of my league to do something like that, but I'll definitely consider it if I get into a modding kick, soon! Or I'll get it if anyone else does make it! I still have pending to check out that bug/incompatibility with the multi mark I was told about. My install is working fine right now, but I haven't focused much in modding lately.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion!

Yay, Abot totally did it with that update! Awesome!
I'll add it to the description when I get around to update the mod, hopefully soon.

I was checking the Passing Time While Reading and I just find the speechcraft gain (even in the highest setting) kinda too much. So, I was thinking of making an alternative. The features I am thinking about are 1) To use some estimation about the book's difficulty to decide on the increase. Possible candidates could be: price, length, how rarely it appears in the world and in the merchants, etc. 2) A counter of the times a book is read to decrease the gain in speechcraft from books that have already been read. 3) Time advancement based on the difficulty, maybe progressively as the pages are flipped. What do you think? Any other suggestions?

I want to work well with Talking matters and Silver Tongue and together make the Speecraft skill much more interesting.

Edit: I also have one suggestion. If it is possible to make NPCs look at the direction of the player when starting a conversation. I know this could be exploitable by sneaky characters, but it is a nice exploit if done right I think.

    Very interesting mod!
Do you think it is compatible with Speechcraft Rebalance? And if so, is there a way to increase the failures at persuasion before the npc gets offended? (since Speechcraft Rebalance drastically reduce the gained disposition per persuasion attempt)

Really nice addition to the game. Pretty much needed for silver tongue. There seems to be an issue for dialogue boxes not connected to an NPC. Whenever I use Multimark and create a new mark through the dialogue box, I get a crash after closing and opening the menu everytime. I get an MWSE error calling this mod and this never occurs without this installed. I'd like to see if there is some way to fix this.

Hi! Thanks for reporting and sorry about the crashes. Yeah, there surely is a way to fix it, I probably didn't realize I needed to check something before trying to change it and I'm trying to do some impossible thing (if it's an actual dialogue box, for example, I didn't know they could exist belonging to no-one, so it could be that). I'll get to it as soon as possible. If you could tell me what exactly appears in the log, it'll be useful, but just knowing the problem is with Multimark helps.
Thanks and I'm glad you like the mod. I'll try to get it patched up ASAP.

EDIT: Ehrm... Which Multi Mark mod are you using? Because I checked alongside https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/47209 and I couldn't get it to crash. I'll try some more in the weekend when I have more time...

No, most likely they meant Multi Mark and Harder Recall. I can also confirm the same error with the mod installed.
      Here's the log:

Lua traceback at time of crash:
      stack traceback:
       [C]: in function '__index'
       Data Files\MWSE\mods\talkingMatters\main.lua:27: in function 'refreshRepeatedTopicsList'
       Data Files\MWSE\mods\talkingMatters\main.lua:429: in function <Data Files\MWSE\mods\talkingMatters\main.lua:414>
       [C]: in function 'xpcall'
       .\Data Files\MWSE\core\event.lua:160: in function 'trigger'
       .\Data Files\MWSE\core\event.lua:180: in function <.\Data Files\MWSE\core\event.lua:150>
      MiniDump creation successful.

      Hi!
Thanks for reporting it! With that info I should be able to debug it. I I'll try and get it fixed ASAP. My Morrowind install is a mess right now, but I'll try to at least get clean one to do the bugfixing.

So... I'm cleaning up my install, so I expect to try and solve this (and add the custom class training) somewhat soon. Sorry for the delay!

      Not yet, sorry!
I haven't forgotten, but life got pretty eventful these last few months. I'm certainly doing it at some point, but I haven't managed to, yet, sadly.
