The premise of my synthesis series is fleshing out a combination of two different aspects of the game in a logical and thoughtful way. This first entry covers missing creature variants and diseases.

In-game descriptions refer to many creature variants that are not featured in game. Chances are some of these creature names (Dusky Alit, Waste Rat, Girdle-tailed Cliff Racer, Least Kagouti) may have been what the diseased variations of creatures were originally called (might even be Vvardenfell colloquial?). They were probably changed to Diseased *creaturename here* to better tell the player that they were diseased.

Exceptions are variants which are specifically described as being larger (King Mudcrab, Mudcrab Titan, Rogue Nix-Hound, and Rust Rat) and unique variants that cannot be linked to any disease whatsoever (Blind Slaughterfish, Electric Slaughterfish, Dwarven Guardian, and Dwarven Wraith).

My take on Ash Poets is that it simply is what members of the Sixth House call Ash Ghouls. Domesticated Guar probably just refers to the non-wild version of guar.

New creature variants:
  • Diseased Dreugh, which carries Wither disease.
  • Diseased Betty Netch, which carries the unused Serpiginous Dementia disease.
  • Diseased Bull Netch, which carries the unused Serpiginous Dementia disease.
  • Diseased Nix-Hound, which carries the unused Rattles disease.
  • Rogue Nix-Hound, which carries the unused Dampworm disease.
  • Diseased Kwama Forager, which carries Droops disease.
  • Diseased Kwama Warrior, which carries Droops disease.
  • Diseased Slaughterfish, will either carry the unused Greenspore disease or Ataxia disease (50/50 chance).
  • Frost Centurion, basically a frost version of the Shock Centurion Baladas restored.
  • Rust Rat, which carries the unused Rust Chancre disease.
  • Wraith, similar of the Ancestor Ghost but more powerful and carries a sword.

Edits to existing creatures:
  • Guar (the non-wild version) was given Rockjoint disease.
  • Diseased Alit was given Rockjoint (previously Ataxia).
  • Cave Rats scale was increased.
  • Skeleton, Bonelord, Bonewalker and Greater Bonewalker have a 30% chance to either carry Brown Rot disease (2/3 chance) or the unused Chills disease (1/3 chance).

Missing creature variants not covered by this mod:

  • King Mudcrab
  • Mudcrab Titan
  • Blind Slaughterfish
  • Electric Slaughterfish
  • Dwarven Guardian (might be added in a later version)
  • Dwarven Wraith (might be added in a later version)

Copy the .ESP file into your Morrowind\Data Files folder. Activate the mod in the Morrowind launcher.

Since this mod edits several leveled lists it is recommended to create a merged leveled list (Mashed Lists.esp). This can be done by either Tes3cmd or preferably Wrye Mash (Actions > Create Mashed Patch).

Incompatible mods:

Compatible mods:
  • R-Zero's Creatorium Part 1 - Waters and Shores adds the missing King Mudcrab, Mudcrab Titan, Blind Slaughterfish and Electric Slaughterfish. The author doesn't recommend using this mod because the quality of the new models would fall short. Judge for yourself.
  • FMI- Unique Lore Friendly Cave Rats; make sure to load my mod last and to create a Merged Objects.esp with TES3Merge so you get both the new model and texture and my changes.
  • No Disease Labels removes "Diseased" adjectives from creature names.

Aleist3r for the modified Ancestor Ghost model used for Wraith.
Melchior Dahrk for curating the Uniformity Mods for Morrowind list.
