One mod that I always wanted to use with this is seasonal weather of vardenfall, since the two together would make my ideal weather system. Is that a possibility in the future?
  2. Nice long description.

Are there plans to change weather by time for all regions - other than blight storms - which = seasons?

I am pretty sure Ashstorms and Blightstorms are happening more often than MCM settings suggest.

I get both types of storms in all regions (haven't checked Solstheim), sometimes I get ashstorm that turns in blightstorm that finally turns into clear weather.

The only setting I touched was the once day elapsed one. I changed it from 365 to 720, but I am not sure it affected anything.

I can think of two mods that might do something to weather - its MUSE and Magicka Expanded (module with weather magic)

Changing the days elapsed setting shouldn't affect this - it would just make the increase in blight chance happen more slowly. MUSE doesn't do anything that would affect the mod.

I'm not sure about the weather magic component of Magicka Expanded, but I think NPCs would never cast those spells? So it seems like it should only affect the weather if you cast them yourself. I'm not sure though, I've never used it.

You definitely shouldn't get ash/blight on Solstheim unless you changed the settings to add a base ash chance to those regions.

I'm not sure what's causing this, and it's possible you've just been unlucky with the RNG. But if you're consistently getting one weather condition that immediately transitions to another whenever you load your save/step outside, maybe try staying in the same region and waiting a day or so (or however long the Morrowind.ini setting is) so the game will pick a new weather condition.

Yeah, I can confirm that Creeping Blight is broken.

EDIT: Egg on my face. I'm not sure why I didn't realize this, but some time ago I had heard that 'Creeping Blight' and 'Watch the Skies' were compatible, so I had both installed in my game. Spoilers: they really aren't. Watch the Skies' is a dynamic weather mod that (among its other changes) makes Blight a lot more common, and its built-in changes were overwriting Creeping Blight's weather settings. So it wasn't that this mod was broken; it's that it wasn't being used.

I'm not entirely sure if it's possible to selectively disable parts of 'Watch the Skies' to get this to work as intended, but I just disabled WtS entirely and now I'm enjoying clear skies in the Ascadian Isles.

I'm guessing this wouldn't work for the Glass Domes of Vivec mod, since the mod disabled rain/ash storms there.

This actually works fine with Glass Domes of Vivec, as long as you use that mod's MWSE component.

Oof, yeah that's the thing. I use OpenMW, not MWSE.

Ooh, enjoy your ashstorms inside the plazas lol.

Actually you could edit the plugin to remove ash/blight from AI, but that would partly defeat the purpose of the mod imo.

      that DOES sound hilarious
  5. Awesome mod! I've been using it for almost a year now and it really helps sell the imminent danger of the Blight. If I could make one suggestion though it'd be an option for Blight storms to replace other weather types aside from ash storms, or for Blight storms to occur from game start at a variable level so it doesn't seem like they began the moment the pc stepped off the boat. Anyway, I wanted to give congrats for making this must-have.

Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying it! In the MWSE version blight basically does begin at game start because of the "time elapsed" feature, though with very low odds at first. It could be done in the plugin version by changing the region records to include a small chance of blight (which shouldn't carry over post-MQ as the scripts specifically set weather chances at that time).

I wouldn't want blight to replace weather other than ash storms though. A blight storm is just an ash storm with blight carried on the wind. If a region doesn't have ash storms at all, there should be no blight storms either. And I don't think the blight phenomenon makes ash storms from Red Mountain (which are a natural weather phenomenon and have nothing to do with Dagoth Ur) more common in general, it just spreads blight on the ash winds.

Should this work with The Blight or are there expected conflicts?

I haven't tried it, but I think it should work fine. All this mod does is change weather chances, and I don't think The Blight does that.

Better Sounds patch is great. Is it possible to also use it with Frostwind (on OpenMW)? I believe it also touches Endgame script. Should Creeping Blight go after Better Sounds, but before Frostwind in load order?

To answer the easy question first, load order between Creeping Blight and Better Sounds doesn't matter, but the patch needs to load after both.

Regarding Frostwind, I'm not sure because I've never used that mod, but anything that touches any of the affected scripts is pretty much a hard incompatibility without a patch.

As is (assuming Frostwind does actually modify the endgame script), if you load Frostwind last, then weather chances won't return to normal once the MQ is complete, while if you load Creeping Blight last, Frostwind's changes to the script will be overridden.

A patch would need to incorporate the changes made by both mods to the script. (IIRC Creeping Blight just adds one line to the script to change weather chances, so it's probably easiest to take Frostwind's version of that script and copy/paste Creeping Blight's new line.)

Thank you. I've checked and turns out Frostwind doesn't touch Endgame script after all. Its description just says it's not compatible with any blight restoration mods, as it has its own mechanics for getting blight. Perhaps I'll just try to use it together and see.

Okay, yeah that makes more sense actually. That sounds like a description of mods like Blight Storms Restored and Blighted Blight, which restore the possibility of contracting blight diseases when out in a blightstorm (which Creeping Blight does not do). Ashfall also has a blight-catching mechanic, as does The Blight (I think). But yeah the Creeping Blight plugin should work with all of those as far as I know.

God I so desperately want to use this mod for the Blightstorm progression element, but I don't know how I can give up the wonderful stuff Watch The Skies does. No way to make em compatible?

I haven't tried to use them together, so I'm not sure, but I *think* they would work together as long as you disable WTS's seasonal weather (the seasonal daylight hours should be fine). This mod and that component of WTS try to do the same thing - modify region records to adjust weather chances.

I assume this wouldn't work with Seasons of Vvardenfell, right?

No, the plugin version would conflict and the MWSE version would override the other mod. The seasonal weather idea could be implemented in MWSE though..

I want this mod so badly but I'm thinking it's incompatible with MAO and Better Sounds, because of region edits? And not even TES3Merge could resolve them?

New version has compatibility patches for MAO and Better Sounds. Yeah, tes3merge wouldn't help since it doesn't merge region records.

I'm also wondering if this will conflict with AURA + Better Music System Redone + MUSE. Specifically with AURA?

There should be no conflict at all with those mods.
