I don't think this works with the steam version which is 1.10, the nomad goes so slow its quicker running on foot as I have found throughout the game even with all the improvements I have purchased for the tank. I am using the Pure Driving Experience Road Rage version as I want the nomad to be faster and have a better chance of making it up an incline before I frustratedly just get out and run the rest of the way as its easier.
All the files include the RRM boost, correct? The one click mining didn't specify, but hoping. Road Rage mod was one of my favorites. thank you so much!
? on the video..I can imagine the ppl in the vehicle just laying around half dead and cursing you out..saying.. "Screw this.. I rather just walk in the f*#@ing heat man" ?
I went ahead and found the code you need to alter to improve vehicle handling. Under Mako > References > References from mako > vehiclecomponent_frontwheel/middlewheel/rearwheel_mako_config#
There is a ton of data here, but the data with "resistance", "sensitivity", "minslip" and "friction" are the ones you want. Hope this helps!
is there a version that has one click, double, and the speed/jump etc. as I was looking to replace all 3/4 due to conflicting mods. from the discriptions it look either like oc_dm dm or rrm. id like a oc_dm_rrm.
A godsend of a mod, no doubt. But while the speed increase might be to blame, I find the Nomad skidding out from turning almost everything time to be a little overkill. Is there anyway to reduce that via an update to this mod, or is it simply out of your control?
Firstly thanks for the appreciation. :) Secondly: don't forget it also depends on the planet you're currently on. All the planets have different effects on the Nomads handling. But besides that you're totally right. Have you tested the pure Road Rage - Mobility mod in comparison? I felt it being even worse with that mod that my one is based on and spent hours and hours and hours trying to understand vehicle physics in the Frostbite Engine - that's what I wanted to improve in the first place and literally drove me crazy with the original mod. Unfortunately there is no open documentation available like it is for Unreal Engine for example which would've made it much easier. It seemed quite complex to me as a newbie and honestly a bit hard to understand. I am obviously lacking knowledge in automotive engineering and game development for this. And yes - at least for me the complexity of settings appeared so close to reality that it made me ask a friend of mine who is a car mechanic for help, who couldn't help either. :D
TL;DR: I fear I won't spent any further hours on developing the mod any further (as said in the disclaimer). Sorry. But you're very welcome to do so yourself. I documented everything in detail to make someone else's start way easier.
Ah thank you for the reply. Yes, I fully understand it would be extremely difficult to get your head around, and I wasn't holding out high hopes. After all, I'm you sure you would have just fixed the issue yourself if it were that easy to do. Thank you regardless, still a fantastic mod all the same.
Same here. I appreciated the increased speed, and the higher jump thrusters. But handling was horrific, the vehicle spins left and right constantly making it almost unusable on Voeld and even on EOS. I got into a "spin lock" where I just kept spinning left and right and drifting all over the place. Lol. It was fun for a while.
The one click Mining is amazing though. So the jump thrusters, increased speed and mining are worth it.
If there is a planet it's handling is not working on, the answer might be to turn off the mod, and reload the game, then reload a save you just made? I mean, the vehicle was designed to work on those planets...all planets, so while you might lose some benefits, you would be able to at least get where you want to go, right?
I downloaded this mod and it works fine, but I noticed that when I applied Nomad mods from the R&D panel, the statistics on my Nomad didn't change and they seemed to have no effect. I wasn't sure if that's because of this mod. Or does this mod negate the need for Nomad mods completely?
Edit: NVM. Apparently the upgrades install as soon as you actually get into the Nomad.
I didn't dive into modding too deep. Therefore I only can assume what my changes did. As far as this assumption goes I'd say it affects R&D upgrades for the nomad assimilating them to the improvements but doesn't make them obsolete. But I started modding myself really late in the game and already had all the Nomad researches installed. So I unfortunately can't make a reliable statement regarding the behaviour in earlier levels.
