I deleted Genesis dlc. And on a fresh install of ME2 , installing a long list of mods i can say for sure that removing Genesis causes no problem. Well. Atleast not so far. I will bring an update if i run into problems. Theoreticly it should not happen since Genesis isn´t a mandatory DLC.
Annoying that Bioware / EA decides to mess up dialogue in a dlc but go figure... lol.
Anyway i got back the original dialogue without having to install this mod.
But cudos for making it for the users who wants it and isn´t using pv.

List of mods im using :

    ME3Tweaks Mod Manager :
    ALOV for ME2 - Relay Jump Remaster (1080p) 3.0
    Aria MEUITM Mesh Fixes 1.0
    Casual Hubs for ME2 1.12
    Early Recruitment 1.2.4
EGM Fix Weapons in Cutscenes ME2 1.0
    Expanded Shepard Armory Mod 3.0
    Extended Classes 1.0
    Joker Wears Cerberus Fatigues 1.0
    ME2 Almost Unlimited Guns 1.0
    Miranda MEUITM Mesh Fixes 1.0
    Project Variety for ME2 0.2.0.4
Tech and Biotic Powers Penetrate Shields 1.0
    Shorter Loadings (Animated)
    No Mini Games

    Others :
    Quick Startup
Remove Shared Cooldowns patch for No MiniGames
    Illium Landing Movie Mod
    ALOT for ME2 4k
    MEUITM2 4k
Various textures not included in ALOT 4k

Everything works and ram usage is around 1,7gb edit, 2,5gb at Omega

I'm not sure what your comment is for. This mod will only work if you have Genesis DLC. The purpose is so that you can have the original opening dialogue while also having access to the Genesis 2 recap. Otherwise there's no reason to use it.

But thanks for the compliment anyway.

Your mod is incompatible with 2 mods, this hint brings up that we can skip Genesis while installing DLCs and it won't cause any troubles while modding game.

Because I think PV should make it compatible with me. Jk.

      I haven't looked into it. There's no "can't".

    1. Are the new lines (1) and (2) voiced by the same people or made-up? Meaning the original files were already there and you extracted them?
    2. why is this not compatible with PV for ME2?

New lines are actually old lines. They were the original ones when you bought ME2 before you installed Genesis DLC. The new lines in the Genesis DLC version of the intro are actually various forms of cutting and pasting lines from elsewhere in the game, so BioWare basically modded their own game.

Ooh, great idea! You'll definitely need to remake this for Legendary Edition.

I have a bunch of mod ideas for LE. I try not to spend too much time on those as Your Choices Matter is my main one (it hasn't been released yet), but definitely. I have 3 pretty simple mods to be made.

Another reason why I want to hold out before going too hard on LE is because we're planning a baseline mod with a bunch of mod-fixes and refactoring that makes modding a lot easier going forward, and makes compatibility patches much easier. Dunno how long it'll take but it's a good idea to wait for that.

You don't get it though! In LE this cannot be avoided as all the DLCs (including the crappy Genesis) are integrated into the game, in Vanilla game you decide which DLC to install and which not to! So this would be way more useful for LE, than Vanilla edition! To avoid any incovenience coming with any of Genesis comics simply avoid installing them, since they are basically just a quick revise of all the main events and main decisions throughout both sequels and do not separately bring anything new into the table! (no new content, no weapons, no new characters, ouitfits nothing...) You don't lose anything from not installing them, so why even bother?! LOL

Hello friend, I just wanted to let you know that by deleting DLC_DHME1 from your game folder gets you the same result, still, it's useful for people who don't wanna tamper with the game files I guess!

There's a certain large mod that requires all game files to be "not tampered with" for the initial mod install.
So could be handy in that respect.

I'm aware you can just remove DLCs, but the idea here was to have the Comic Recap functionality and not have the silly edits they made to the branching dialogue in the opening. So you get the Councilor Choice based on the comic, but you get the reference to the Council in the opening as usual and they don't undermine the idea that humans get more powerful if they died (I know it contradicted lore going forward, but I personally love the idea of a "human-controlled" council)
