This is a single-level prototype for a soon-to-be full Campaign and Firefight overhaul which has three goals:

  • Tweak the entire sandbox such that every weapon, vehicle, and AI has a distinct and useful role to fulfill, all about finding the best tools depending on the enemies, situation, and environment for a more decision-based and gratifying game.

  • Provide for a more immersive and hardcore experience; making the player feel much more like an ODST than a Spartan; vulnerable, but still deadly and capable. Stamina has been removed, and health packs are more spread out, but health has been buffed. Meaning smart planning, and usage of cover is key to defeating the waves of enemies and managing your health.

  • Expand on the untapped potential of the original game. Such as adjusting the levels to feature fully-functional enemy Elites, adding back in weapons from Halo 2, and other cosmetic changes that harken more toward Halo 2 than 3.

This prototype features Tayari Plaza, as well as a fully-playable Firefight map in Crater, daytime!

INSTALLATION:

1. In the directory, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo3odst\maps, backup the files "sc100.map", "shared.map", and "campaign.map". Then extract the modded map files of the same names, and place them where they used to be.

2. In the directory, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo3odst\fmod\pc, backup the files "english.fsb", and "sfx.fsb", then extract the mod's provided .fsb files, and place them where they used to be.

3. Whenever you want to play the modded maps, just make sure you open the game with anti-cheat disabled. Have fun!

As this is a Prototype, any feedback is welcome! Let me know if I achieved my three goals mentioned above. Things such as enemy or weapon placements may not reflect the final version. I will not be continuing with ODST Rebalanced until the modding community has some method of preserving mods from being broken from updates to MCC.
