Can you please update the tutorial with the latest version features? I can't find any information about what "Replace" checkmark means and what's "Fallback" feature is doing. Also format of header expression, for example how to use references such as "@s" "@#" etc. I'm looking at some more advanced usage of this header preprocessing (specifically I'm looking at Icon Sorting Tags mod for FO76) and many things are not covered in this tutorial and I can't find any information or documentation about this tool, I mean it, no help, no docs, no manuals, etc. It's awesome tool but how one can use it without any documentation?
I had the same problem. I got mine working by deleting the 3 strings files (data/strings folder). Then I ran xTranslator again and followed the steps in the description, doing the category tags first and then the competent parts second and now I have both parts working in game, with the category tags in front of items and the components showing after the item.
Hi, Can you use this to sort weapons? This is the only thing I need this mod for, Sorting all weapons by their name instead of their modifications, easier for recycling when you have legendaries and modded weapons you dropped.
you can tag whatever you want , but this wont work well with weapon and armor because the names are dynamically generated by the game as soon as you are adding modifications.
I installed it before and I thought took it all off but whenever I start Xtranslator up it says this: Cache information: Cache file [seventysix] can not be generated: Details: seventysix: en [notFOUND] fr [notFOUND] : [Gen: NO] seventysix: en [notFOUND] fr [notFOUND] : [Gen: NO] seventysix: en [notFOUND] fr [notFOUND] : [Gen: NO] I am...so confused. Please help ; _;
for some reason, xTranslator does'nt find the game (not sure why, maybe you moved it?). all in all, you just have to set the path of the game data folder in the data text field (in the dictionary options) and you should be good to go. Also, don't forget to set to source and dest language as the same (actually you have en->fr)
Is there a way to disable/enable all rules? Or perhaps select to only process a couple of rules? Would be useful for testing new rules or when modifying additional rules.
You can disable rules by clicking on the icon (bleue icon = disabled, orange = enabled). works in xtranslator 1.1.5b+ the rules selection will be added soon, amongst other improvements.
Wasn't real sure where exactly to post this, but in xTranslator (Fallout 76) in the headerProcessor list, (Cloth) is typoed as (Cloth]). I noticed it because it shows in game like that. ;)
the purpose of the tool is to make your rules yourself it's quite easy to fix this ;) (take a look at a the tutorial 0.2) but anyway, It saw this too: the default list will be corrected in the next update (I also made few more adjustments) thx for the report.
Something you may wish to mention in your instructions is (assuming it's the same as fallout 4), the tags used affect the order they are sorted/appear in your list. ie any with () appear first, [ ] second and { } last. (I'm not sure where | | appear). This can be very useful in setting a default sorting. And you can use things such as . & * to have things within a set of tags appear at the top. eg if you wanted stimpacks to appear at the top of the default view, you could have them set up as (.AID) Stimpack or (*AID) stimpack
If you have already documented this and I've missed it in your instructions, apologies.
Your tool xTranslator is an awesome piece of work. Congrats! It would be awesome if NMM, Mod Organizer, or Vortex had this functionalities :) It should be integrated in all mod managers

I will add this on a future tutorial update

( ), no tag, [ ], { }, | |
Within Tags
"*" then "." then Capital then lower case. Not sure about other symbols.
ie
(*Aid)
(.Aid)
(Aid)
