About this mod

This mod replaces some of the Fallout 76 OST with the fan-made Fallout 4 OST "Bleak Beauty" (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9663); this is an independently composed work that is a professionally tailored, Fallout soundtrack.

This mod replaces some of the ambient tracks in Fallout 76 with OrganicView's/CaptainCreepy's Bleak Beauty tracks!

For those of you who are not familiar with Bleak Beauty, it is comprised of very authentic sounding tracks that truly enhance the post apocalyptic ambiance. You won't be disappointed!

I tried to match the regional ambient tracks as best as I could... there are a lot more stock tracks in Fallout 76 than are available in Bleak Beauty... some of the original tracks I left in place since it seemed to blend well enough. A couple of zones I replaced the tracks with Fallout 1 and 2 tracks (thanks to EksCelle's help---check out his work too!).

I may tweak this after some field testing.... make sure you endorse OrganicView's/CaptainCreepy's original mod!! It's really impressive :)

FUTURE PLANS:
  • I intend on creating a version that replaces ALL of the Fallout 76 soundtrack with Fallout 4's soundtrack (and Bleak Beauty).

Stay tuned! This will take me a while, since I have to go through all the Fallout 4 tracks to find the most appropriate for Fallout 76 and align them to the right settings (as in time of day, regions, etc).
INSTALLATION:

LOOSE FILES
  • Install Baka File Tool
  • Unzip the Loose File version of Bleak Beauty.
  • Copy & Paste the music folder into the Fallout 76 DATA folder.
  • Open Baka File Tool.
  • Set the file directory for Fallout 76 such that the Data folder is detected.
  • The right window should display a bunch of loose music tracks; if so, CREATE ARCHIVE.
  • Go into the Baka File Output Folder, then the Fallout 76 Folder.
  • There should be 3 files inside the Output folder. Copy & Paste ALL of the files in the Output folder INTO the Fallout 76 DATA directory. You're all set.
  • (OPTIONAL) Delete the loose files in the DATA directory (the music folder).

BA2 FILE
  • Unzip the BA2 version of Bleak Beauty.
  • Copy & Paste the FO76BleakBeauty.ba2 file into the Fallout 76 DATA folder.
  • Create or modify the Fallout76Custom.ini file (if you need to create this file, open Notepad, type:

    [ARCHIVE]
    sResourceArchive2List = FO76BleakBeauty.ba2

Save the file as Fallout76Custom.ini inside My Documents > My Games > Fallout 76)

  • If modifying Fallout76Custom.ini add FO76BleakBeauty.ba2 to the sResourceArchive2List field.
  • There is a Fallout76Custom.ini available in the OPTIONAL section.

UNINSTALL:

LOOSE FILES
  • Go inside the Fallout 76 DATA folder, and remove the 3 Baka Files.
  • Alternatively if you have other loose file mods that you'd like to preserve, REMOVE the loose music folder in the Fallout 76 and then run the Baka File Tool again (same process as the installation instructions) and OVERWRITE the original 3 Baka files.

BA2 FILE
  • Remove FO76BleakBeauty.ba2 from the Fallout 76 Data directory.
  • Change the Fallout76Custom.ini file by deleting the FO76BleakBeauty.ba2 reference.

**It's possible that you will experience periods of silence while adventuring. The palette tracks (transitional tracks) are silent since it doesn't blend with the adjustments this mod makes.
