IMPORTANT: Make sure you have the version of "Xtraslator v1.3.6 or higher", after update "Fallout 1.6.0.17" you need to use the new version of "Xtraslator (v1.3.6 or higher)". so that the icons can be displayed correctly.
Hello guys, I'm russian man who makes rules for Header processor that makes icontags like mods from Vinsent13 and glitchack. Sorry for my language if there are any translation errors here. This is a machine translation from Google. The original post is here posts mod page.
How to use the Header processor (make icons like in the original mod from Vinsent13 and glitchack):
1) Download the Header Rules or Translate folder, depending on which translation language you will apply the Header processor to: Download
3) Unpack the archives somewhere, preferably NOT in the game folder
3) Launch xTranslator.exe. From the configuration options offered at startup, select Fallout76. In the menu that opens: - in the Source language and Target language fields, select your language to which you want to apply the tags; - in .\data indicate the path to the game Data folder; - in .\string we indicate the path to the game strings folder (should be installed automatically); - click OK.
4) In xTranslator File --> Load ESP --> Open \path to your copy of Fallout 76\Data\SeventySix.esm
5) (Optional) If you want to apply the header processor to some other translation (not the original translation/other mod), select Tools --> Load .strings as translation --> Specify the path to your strings
6) (Optional) Similarly with XML translations. File --> Import translation --> XML files (xTranslator) --> Specify the path to your XML
6) Open Tools --> Header Processor --> In the File window that opens --> Load custom rules --> Open the txt file from the downloaded Header Rules folder (see step 1). See for yourself which file to choose: in _inverticon I changed the order of the icons so that unusual/top items are always displayed as high as possible, in a file without such an annotation the order is the same as in the original mod
7) If you are applying the rules to another mod, then at this step you will most likely need to change the Source to Destination in the "Base string used as a link" in the lower left corner, otherwise the tags will be applied to the original translation of the fallout
8) Click Run handler
9) Now we need to save our tags; to do this, close the Header Processor. Click File --> Save STRINGS As... --> save to \path to your copy of Fallout 76\Data\strings !! We do not change the name generated by the program (should be SeventySix)!!
10) To display icons, open Wizards --> Header Wizard
11) In the window that opens, select the desired language and click Patch game files. When the game is patched, it will tell us in the text field at the bottom of the window that everything is fine. At this point, you can close this window and xTranslator. If you don't uncheck the box below, xTranslator should automatically close when you close the Wizards window.
12) In the window that opens, select the desired language and click Patch game files. When the game is patched, it will tell us in the text field at the bottom of the window that everything is fine. Useful lifehacks with xTranslator:
Using xTranslator you can generate names of junk with its constituent components, for example Kitchen Scale (Steel++, Spring++). To do this, in xTranslator, click Tools --> DefUI Component Generator --> OK in the window that opens. All! This can be done at any stage, even before tags, even after. It will also be useful for those who want tag icons to be displayed in xTranslator. To do this, you need to install the necessary fonts in the system, then in the Header Handler click change font, select the desired font and press CTRL + F9 (possibly several times).
Thank you very much for the mod, very functional and useful, but ...i still get the Lookup failed on many weapons. (I would say in almost all weapons). Otherwise everything is OK, icons etc Is there any way to fix the lookup failed problem?
Checked on the steam version, the mod works and no errors with "lookup" were noticed in the inventory. Installed as usual. Version only ENG language. DOWNLOAD (18/04/23)
Also note that this is still the same version from autumn 2022. items that were added after the mod date will be without icons. It is also possible that some things which have been affected with patches can also lose the icon.
In practice, I could manually add icons to important items like the plan, food, and so on. But it's not convenient for me because it's not my language.
Perhaps if someone gives a list with the exact names in the game, in the form of for example: Hat: Item 1, Item 2.... Ammo: Item 1... Then I can add icons if possible.
Just lil instruction for those, who still want to use this mod features or just remove lookup failed strings. If you get [Lookup failed] somewhere in the game that means that game was updated recently and new strings were added(or old ones changed). Its common problem for string based mods and the only way to deal with it is just wait till mod update or add missed strings manually. (Honestly, most part of mod features are just included in auto tools of xTranslator and there are seperate instructions for them exists too.) Anyway: - first you need to set your language in xTranslator(Options > Dictionaries and languages). You can find detailed instruction here in String, dictionaries and options section. If you use same version of game and mod translation, then you dont need to be worried about dictionaries. Otherwise there could be minor translation problems, which you should easly fix manually later. - next you must load SeventySix.esm from fallout76 Data directory(File > Load Esp / Esm). Once loaded, xtranslator pulls out strings from it (and will try to auto translate them in case of different language). - To apply materials preview, you must use Components generator tool (Tools > DefUi Components generator). Just start the tool and click [ok] button. Default settings are fine. More "detailed" instruction you can find here - To apply text tags, you must use Header Processor tool (Tools > Header Processor). Just start the tool, load default or custom(look below) rules and click [Run processor] button. More "detailed" instruction you can find here * At this point you already gain tagged with material preview strings for current version of the game. Sad side - glitchack removed his own custom headers rules from the nexus site several years ago. However, he also sent it to some other users to help them to generate their own tags. Without his custom header's rules file (InventoryPlus76Rule.txt) we cant generate tags with weight and icon support for new and changed items. And it would be very nice if somebody still have it somewhere to share. But we can still use it with old ones(coz there are not so many new and changed items in the game at this moment). * Otherwise we can use alternative icons, just like lite version of IconSortingTags, for example. - If you still want to use original glitchhack icons for tags, you must import glitchack files with another tool (Tools > Load .Strings as translation). You must use mod's original strings file (SeventySix_XX.STRINGS, where XX - your language), which you can find inside Data/string catalog of mod itself. When tool ask about owerwriting choose everything and click [ok]. - Once you finish with strings you must finalyze them (File > Finalyze Strings). It will automatically safe files with esm name and language suffix(like SeventySix_en.STRINGS) inside game's directories. It also will try to rewrite already existed files. - If you want to use icons, you also must patch original files. Place corresponding to your language files(like fontconfig_en.txt, translate_en.txt, fonts_en.swf) into /Data/Interface directory(Or just keep all of them inside, if you didnt remove them before) and use Header Wizard tool(Wizards > Header wizard). There you must just click on [Patch Game Files] to finish patching. Then just start the game and if you did everything correctly you should find that icons for old items returns and all those nasty [lookup failed] dissapeared. In the future you must repeat those steps each time when game gets another big update. Its just take approx ~5 minutes.

according to the review is not a working option.
I'm sorry, but I think it's worth a try.
