    I have another idea that would fit well with the topic here. I saw something similar in Andvances Need 2 by Flashy, but unfortunately it doesn't work properly there.
    What if you not only lose AP with a mask, but also can't eat, drink, take medication by mouth, or smoke while wearing a mask? I could also imagine this for the radiation protection suit (Hazmat).
    That would be the ultimate immersion. Would you be interested in and have the skills for this?

      Imo an easier workaround would just be to bind the unequip biped slot and eat hotkey. That way when you hit the hotkey to eat or drink it unequips the mask. This is what I do with my setup. I briefly discuss how to set it up on the main page under extra tips. Works really well with hydrate and eat conviently so it autopicks the food / drink without having to favorite anything. If your interested i can share my fo4hotkey ini.

      To answer your question, I suppose you could set a condition to block the mgef of food and drugs if mask slot is equipped. Blicking the animations however I would have to see how it works. It could be as simple as adding a condition to the idle animation but i haven't looked.

      That's a good workaround. I used to use hotkeys for food etc. before, but I stopped doing that for a while because there were too many different things that I had to bind to the keys. I would like to take a look at the ini.
      If you have time, I would be happy if you could take a look at it. A blockade would still be my preferred way. Because I don't think there's anything more unpleasant than accidentally pressing the food button in the glowing sea, or even worse, pressing the smoke button. Because I only save in survival mode by smoking (smokable cigarette mod).

      In the power armor, your AP also goes down and you can't run with it. Or rather, the AP always goes up to about 60 during the run and then drops back to 0.
      Is this intended?

      No that is not intended.

      On a side note in regards to the earliest question here is what I have setup in my hotkeyes.ini

    Does the mod need anything else besides Robco? After installation via Vortex, a master is required ...

      Do you happen to know if there is a mod that makes breathing sounds when the mask is activated? That would then add the point to the immersion.

      Fallout 2287 - Gas Masks of the Wasteland + Fallout 2287 - Gas Masks of the Wasteland - MCM Settings Menu. Should avoid most of the bugs if using the Immersion Preset. Running Breathing is an immersive alternative albeit not specifically for gas masks.

      Thanks for the tips. I've already installed Running Breating. The gas mask mods are too extensive for me, I've had problems with them. I use gas mask upgrades as additional mods, that's enough for me in the game. But as I said, thanks.

    it drains AP even if I just walk? I figured it would just be an AP regen nerf. Or is this a conflict?

      No, ap should only decrease if you are running. Shouldnt be any conflicts as there all new records. 

      Are you using this Walk Run Sprint by chance?

      No, I'm not. But I'm realizing it makes sense to treat what I thought as 'walking fast' as running since your character literally jogs. It was just me interpreting 'running' at 'sprinting', my bad. If I wanted to reduce the active AP drain, can I reduce the 75.000 value in fo4edit? thanks

      if you want to reduce the AP damage (drain) you would decrease the Magnitude of DisDamageActionPoints "Damage Action Points" [MGEF:0003E060] i.e. from 5 -> 1

      MaskReduceAPRegen "Reduce Action Point Rate Mult" [MGEF:9C000002] is your AP regen rate.
