Was about to complain about how its buggy and crashes if I don't wait several seconds before unpausing but I saw the pinned comment saying better mod will be out soon
Only known bug is that it makes UI elements from mods bug out sometimes. Crashes have never been reported and this mod was playtested by multiple people and no one reported any
i have a bug but i'm not sure it's because of this mod, however every time it happens i can't just unpause the game, so i have only experienced this a few times with this mod in my game.
basically what happens is i die and my game loads back and it gets stuck on the paused menu, now normally i can just press B on my controller to back out of the pause menu and play the game like normal, but sometimes it pretty much locks me in this pause screen and there is no way out of it outside of control alt delete and pretty much shutting down the game via the task menu.
it won't allow you to access any of the menu options either so you are stuck, you can't even quit from the menu when this happens which is why it's required to gain access to the task manager menu and quit the game.
again it doesn't happen that often, but i have ran into this glitch with this mod in my load order a few times now with this installed.
Great mod, very useful when you start your game and go to make tea or answer the door etc, thank you for sharing.
I am having an issue with it nonetheless, possible bug, don't know.
After installing it I noticed that my HoloTime clock stopped showing on the screen. I re-installed HT mod, dropped it to the bottom of my load order etc to no avail. For some reason when the game is paused immediately after start, it somehow prevents HT clock from initialising on the screen/hud!
When I turned this mod off, HT started working perfectly again.
If you have a moment maybe you could have a look at this for us, I would really like to use both mods together, I am playing old gen 1.10.163
Odd. This is now the 2nd issue arising from using custom HUD widget mods. I'll look for an alternative implementation tomorrow if I'm free, and if you'd like to help debug it that'd be ideal (contact me on Discord)
My guess is this mod is somehow preventing those mode from activating fully when the game is paused so soon after loading and before they had a chance to fully activate. As such I think if the game is allowed few extra seconds (10 at least) before it's paused that should definitely solve the issue.
That's what I personally think but I'm not a modder and I could be completely wrong but it's food for thought, hopefully.
Hi... Could you please make this so that it also pauses the game after loading a cell? Just at any loading. Push a button to start the game - something like that. There is a Lore-Based Loading Screens mod on Nexus and I simply can't read the text because the game loads so quickly. Thanx.
I don't think you realise how often your game would be paused :P Pausing on cell load would mean you'd pause like 4-5 times every 20 metres that you walk As for pausing for interior cells I'd find it silly and annoying more than anything
As a thought, obviously on each cell load it would be terrible - you'd be pausing every, what, 50 feet or so? But what about (if possible) any time you get a load screen, i.e. going from outside to inside or vice versa, or inside to a different interior location through a load door, fast travel, that kind of thing?
Look at this Guy assuming he's Chompn out someone. I have been playing Fallout 4 since its release date, November 10, 2015. I pre-ordered it because I was first introduced to the Fallout series through Fallout 3. Although I didn't particularly enjoy Fallout 3, when I saw the anticipation surrounding Fallout 4, I was convinced that it would be the best game I would ever experience in my lifetime. Now, sitting here in 2025 and still playing Fallout 4, I can confidently say that my assumptions were correct. I do not have an exact time played count but lets say since release till now has been 82,704 hours Ill be generous and subtract 4 years in hours 35,040 hours That's. to account sleep, eating, fuxing, shitting, working Oh yah in-between I've also been able to 100% several Major titles ACO and Origin, Andromeda, All The Souls game and the copy-cats GTA4-5 FF7, FF7 Remake, FF7 Rebirth. These are my top fav 5 of all time FFXV, ACOdeyssey, Mass Effect Andromeda, Mafia 3 and of course G-Pa FO4 every time I complete a game I return to Fallout 4 think Ive beat it 30x if not more and Im talking 100% not running thru the game the other fav 3x 100% currently on my 3rd 100% of Odessey but always in-between games I always return to FO4 new mod or just a lil catch up just a messily 47,664 hours but I think it might be more since Im assuming 4yrs would be a good enough subtraction Bethesda can always have my wallet.
Very handy mod, but I have noticed one small issue. Its rather minor, but I did some testing and found that this mod can cause some HUD-related mods, Toonux's Kill feed mod to give an example, to not function or not appear for some reason. When I disabled this mod and loaded a game, the kill feed and other mods of its type adding HUD elements then worked/appeared just fine.
No idea why this is, but still a great mod regardless.
No clue. I don't work with HUD mods so I'm not sure where to even begin with fixing that if it is related to this. If I have time I'll look into some alternative ways to pause the game after load but I won't make any promises for now
Again, its very minor so its not like anything game-breaking, but the biggest HUD-related mods in my load order are HUDFramework (which might be what is breaking since its what allows extra elements to be added to HUDs) and FallUI
I haven't checked, I don't even know what the conflict might be. Is it disabling 300 mods one at a time to test? And what kind of mod can there be a conflict with? I disable this mod and everything works fine.
i noticed that this solves that little issue when loading the game that has to do with the right FOV setting, before i used this mod it would take a while to correct itself, this must speed up that process in some way because now i never see that issue, now it seems the script speed up, although i do wonder if it will present itself later in my playthrough, that's when i notice scripts slowing down which usually cause really bad script lag, don't know if this will fix that but i guess i will see.
Will this pause the game with timed saves in Workshop Framework with Workshop plus, while in workshop mode, without kicking you completely out of workshop mode and resuming workshop mode after saving? If it doesn't or can not for scripting reason, I'm still absolutely thrilled with this mod. I get so into workshop mode that I'm in it for hours. A little longer break by a second or two would be good for snapping me outs of hyper focusing.
Will this also pause on quicksaves? (I don't even know if the ones from WorkshopFramework/Plus is a full or quicksave)
"Better mod will be out soon"
Unless it fixes everything NG broke and makes it totally comparable with OG, I don't know what could be more awesome than this mod. I'm likely going to be proven wrong because it's one of your mods. lol
Thus only pauses when you load a save either from main menu or from an existing save. It doesn't pause when a save is made; though that's easily doable but not something I'd release publicly because it fits a niche that others would find annoying and inconvenient
Still want to use this so bad. I got it messed up in my understanding how it works.
This might help some of the mess that has to run at load...maybe...if it will let me do that at least.
I don't know how many times I've gotten up waiting for the game to load from the opening menu and I'm getting attacked or some other thing is happening. I even do it occasionally when loading a save but still try to hurry back but I'm not always fast enough to avoid trouble.

This is HoloTime mod for your reference: HoloTime - HUD Clock Widget at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community
Suggestion for a fix: maybe make this mod kick in 10 or 15 seconds after the game starts to allow other mods to initialise first?
Many thanks.

New copypasta has dropped
This is exactly what I was thinking. I even wrote the reason here - Lore-Based Loading Screens. Apparently it was a language barrier on my part.No idea why this is, but still a great mod regardless.
