This mod does something very simple: It adds two unique armor sets based on a popular figure in SciFi pop-culture. One armorset, the Commando variant, does not currently exist in the game world but can be spawned from the console. The other armorset, the default variant, has two material swaps: Clean (painted) and bare metal.

What is this mod?
Besides being my first Nexus Mods upload, this mod is simple in the sense that it adds a custom set of armor that may remind you, the reader, of a certain character of a certain space drama. Besides two unique variants of the armor, there is a holotape that can be found near one of the spawn locations, as well as a mannequin to pick up the base/starter set.
There is a short quest that only activates once you find the armor mannequin, and only serves as an aid to pick up all the pieces cleanly.
Why this particular armor?
I happened to have already made the model for the helmet to use for my profile picture, so I thought it would be fitting for my first attempt at modding. After optimizing the model, texturing, and rigging, I have learned a lot about the process.
From there, I was able to expand the armor to include a full mix-and-matchable set of light (Size A) armor pieces and a uniform to go with it. The uniform has the option to add ballistic weave with the requisite perks.
Some more details about the armorsets: Of the two independent armor variants, one of them can be found at the Robotics Disposal Ground. The other armorset, which I've dubbed the 'Commando' set, cannot currently be found in the world, but features a glowing visor. The default or "Dirty" variant, has two material swaps.
If you want the uniform that goes with the armor, you'll have to visit Hubris Comics and pick it up there. The mod supports VNAMs and was added to the dn_CommonArmor INNR records.
Please report any bugs/issues accordingly.
What's next?
This mod has been so much fun to make, but I don't think I'm done here. I have some ideas to continue to expand this mod as I get more comfortable with the mod tools. I'd like to create a custom NPC, a custom legendary effect for the Commando Helmet, and other improvements.
If you, the reader, do choose to download the mod: Thank you!
Update: 27 May, 2024 - v0.2
The mod is coming along well, and I am very excited to see where it goes from here. The focus of my mod is to add a full armorset to the game, which includes multiple sizes for the armor, and potentially a LL injection.
