I'm still trying to figure how to add that low pitched voice to the main character without applying it even if he's not wearing a PA. Any other modder have an idea to help me out? :)
Not a modder but I'd be happy to use a version of this mod even if it changes the voice out of PA. I'm never out of mine so it wouldn't bother me at all while waiting for someone or yourself figure out how to do it properly. I'm happy someone is trying to get it done tho i was looking for this ever since the show dropped.
Hey, I don't know if this could help, but in case PVoFS doesn't work, you can try this mod. "Player Voice Frequency" It's the same thing but the author fixed the issues PVoFS had.
Hey, fantastic mod. First time playing FO4 and after hearing the vanilla PA voice your mod felt like a big improvement.
I'm leaving this comment here in case anyone has any issues with your character not speaking with any PA filter (vanilla or this mod) when wearing a helmet. From what I can see it's an unsolved problem others have had throughout the years so hopefully this works if someone has a similar problem.
Specifically, my issue was that only my character spoke as if he wasn't wearing a helmet - everyone else spoke with the mods filter. This happened about 20 hours into my playthrough after installing some more mods (mostly clothing, some textures and adding compact crafting tables). It's quite feasible that there's an unknown mod conflict (old or new) or my solution won't work broadly (like if the PA filter works for nobody at all).
So, what's the solution I've spent hours trying to find?
Unequip the sunglasses my character was wearing.
That was it.
I almost lost 2 hours worth of progress because wearing sunglasses or black-rim glasses (haven't tested with other vanilla eyewear) and entering the suit cancelled out the PA voice filter. The filter still worked with some modded eyewear I wore (West Tek Tactical Optics, Julbo Vermont and Warby Parker sunglasses). I think every headwear's meant to be unequipped, but for some reason the sunglasses/black-rim glasses conflicts with the helmet with this mod. Only evidence of that opinion is that the West Tek night vision mode turned off when I entered the suit, and immediately turned on when I exited the suit.
Without the mod it seems the filter works with sunglasses on, but you can brute-force the same problem above by manually equipping the sunglasses (which unequips the helmet), and re-equipping the helmet so the game has both on simultaneously.
Hope this helps anyone who stumbled onto this post.
tl;dr of above message: If voice filter doesn't work (modded or unmoded), try unequipping whatever eyewear or headwear you're wearing. That's what worked for me.
I'll add an addendum that I did some more testing and it seems that I was half-right. I was wearing sunglasses and Ace's Lucky Helmet when the filter didn't work. When I dropped one of the two items from my inventory in PA, the mod worked immediately afterwards.
Wearing the helmet with modded sunglasses worked a-okay with this mod. I feel like this is more of a game bug than a mod bug but I have no clue. Also, without the mod, Ace's helmet + sunglasses combo didn't break the vanilla filter but Ace's helmet + black-rim glasses did (might've been the other way around, but either way one of the two led to my character talking as if he wasn't wearing a PA helmet).
Seriously, have a kudos point. This has been driving me crazy for days. Thought it was just a weird difference between wearing T-60 PA from the T-45, T-51, and X-01 models. Never thought it might be caused by my companions' actual head wear or glasses. Amazing.
I know alot of people are saying sounds nothing like Tv show but this is actually a great mod for power armor yes it doesn't change the tone or volume of wimpy VA but it does make power armor feel more realistic so good job.
Actually I just realized this now but the T-60 helmet in the show looks like the clear power armor visors mod... The helmet mesh size is different tho.

Is it that you can't have more than 3 effects, or that there ARE only 3 effects available to be used? Because, honestly, I could do without the heavier distortion if it means a lower pitch
Anychance of using Address Library for the plugin so it will be backwards compatible with the pre-degen version? Next Gen is still way to f'd up to use and so many mods don't work with it. If not, that's fine, it's not something I have to have, just please don't be like that "other" mod author and say "just update your f'ing game looser"... Like nope, over 1k mods and at least 1/2 of them will never be updated as the authors have long since left.
But yeah, backwards compatibility would be great, if not, no worries, not a must have mod, just a nice addition. Nice work tho from the video, sounds pretty good.

But when you exit the powerarmor or remove the helmet it's really weird :S
