That's an interesting topic since the only thing we have related to religion is the church in Diamond City. And Bethesda never really said anything about it...
Bethesda usually tries to avoid any form of real world controversy whenever it can. I don't entirely blame them given how volatile the world is today and how some people respond to these things.
For example, bethesda made the brotherhood of steel come off as a militaristic group of diehards who refer to synths and mutants as "abominations" and "godless heathens" And guess what the communities reaction was? They instantly started calling the brotherhood fascists.
I hate the brotherhood as a faction (Have ever since fallout 3) But honestly calling them fascists is literal clown behaviour.
It just seems like such a missed opportunity. Just look at what NV did with the Mormons! Including religion (if done intelligently and from a detached perspective) can be great for video games!
i agree, it is clown behaivour to call them facists, they want to get rid of the advanced tech that looks and acts to much like humans and in many occasions end up replacing humans with the synths, then with the FEV virus, was probably intended to kill people, but it ended up destroying people's DNA so that they turn into ghouls or super mutants, i mean i suppose they made them rad resistant, but at such a horrable cost to life in the long run.
but it's so bad that they have to destroy these things because aparently they wreck havoc on the population and make it almost impossible to continue the life line of humanity, so it only makes sense to eradicate them, i think with the synths they could just reprogram them, at one point of the story i thought the institue were considering uploading their minds into these synth bodies so they could continue living within a synth body and maybe cryogenitically freeze their bodies until the world healed enough to the degree that they could continue to live life as humans above ground, but that kind of story arch could exist when the earth heals itself when enough time passes, but that wasn't the story bethesda were telling weird enough.
Yeah i get it, the brotherhood has plenty of logical reasoning behind it, but honestly bethesda's been using the brotherhood as the "good guys" in every game and it's getting really boring. That's the main reason i don't like the brotherhood.

EDIT: Ok so I looked up Followers of Christ and the first thing that popped up was an article about a criminal investigation. 😐 Hoping it's not representing that church as from what I'm finding isn't good. you might want to change the name of the mod OP, cuz I think this one might get you in trouble with the moderators. EDIT 2: Noticed you changed the name of the mod OP, definitely looks and reads a lot better than the original title. 👍
