About this mod

Feral ghouls take less damage from bodyshots and far more damage from headshots. REDUX with far less manual edits for compatibility with other mods. Now with multiple editions. (Mostly) powered by SPID.

What is this?
Feral Ghouls now have a 30% overall damage reduction by default, but take 4x damage to the head. Adds a bit of a challenge and a slight "zombie" feeling to feral ghoul encounters.
Intended for use with my other mod GUT UP, but is completely standalone.

ESL Flagged ESP.

- Meant to be paired with SCOURGE and True Damage, but works without either mod.

- Inspired by the wonderful mod Feral Ghoul Headshot. Go endorse it.

- Patches for Feral Ghoul mods such as FGEP and More Feral Ghouls can be found in the optional section. If you have another ghoul mod that you'd like to see patched, post it in the comments. Let me know if the values need to be adjusted, or if there are any FGEP or More Feral Ghouls enemies that seem unaffected by this mod, and I'll update it.
FallEvil version coming soon.

Enjoy!

Which FGHR Edition should I use?
Spoiler:
Show
STANDARD EDITION:
Recommended for general use, this is probably what you're here for.
|
Standard Edition's changes: Reduces all damage taken by 30% and increases headshot damage by 4x.
- Example math for a weapon that does 40 damage:
40 * 0.7 = 28 body damage for Ferals and Glowing Ones.
40 * 0.7 * 4 = 112 headshot damage for Ferals and Glowing Ones.

CRIPPLE EDITION:
Use if you want ghouls to be easily crippled, but have to be killed by headshots rather than body damage. More zombie/walker-esque.
|
Cripple Edition's changes: Reduces all damage taken by 75% and multiplies limb health (leg/arm crippling) damage by 15x. Also multiplies headshot damage by 15x for parity.
- Example math for a weapon that does 40 damage:
40 * 0.25 = 10 body damage for Ferals and Glowing Ones.
40 * 0.25 * 15 = 150 limb health damage.
40 * 0.25 * 15 = 150 headshot damage.

NO HEADSHOT EDITION:
For use with mods such as Headshots Kill Any Actor, or Headshot Damage Multipliers
|
No Headshot Edition's changes: Reduces all damage taken by Feral Ghouls by 30%. That's it.
You can also use this without those mods if you just want all ghouls to be a bit tankier.
- NOT for mods such as MAIM or BLD. Use Standard or Cripple Edition for those.

What's the difference between this mod and the original?
Spoiler:
Show
The original mod had a manual BodyPartData edit for each ghoul limb, which could potentially cause conflicts with other mods that edit that data.

This mod tries to minimize the chances of that happening, only editing one BodyPartData (head damage taken) and doing the rest through a perk applied by SPID.

I also wanted to upload more options for different playstyles.

For a more detailed description, read the section below.

For modders/debugging/nerds; How does this work?
Spoiler:
Show
Technical changes/techniques are the same across Editions, this section documents Standard Edition

- Entirely script-free. Changes handled by perks and one manual edit to head incoming damage.

- All new entries are prefixed by FGHR_ for consistency and debugging/tweaking.

- New perk, "FGHR_GhoulPerk" created, multiplies all incoming damage for the owner by 0.70 for a 30% reduction.

- FGHR_GhoulPerk distributed to all members of FeralGhoulRace and FeralGhoulGlowingRace using SPID.

- One manual BodyPartData edit for both Feral Ghouls and Glowing Ones. Multiplies incoming headshot damage by 4x for Feral Ghouls and Glowing Ones.

- Example math for a weapon that does 40 damage:
40 * 0.7 = 28 body damage for Ferals and Glowing Ones.
40 * 0.7 * 4 = 112 headshot damage for Ferals and Glowing Ones.

- That's it. All values can be manually tweaked in either the CK or xEdit.
