Patch guide get xedit aka fo4edit, I don't know why you wouldn't have this, but get it. get this mod, and whatever other chameleon stuff you want, I like Slippery Chameleon. (Chameleon No Sound Is redundant due to how this mod works don't get it it wont do anything (because it alters the chameleon magic effect and this mod functions by not using that effect)) Alternate Chameleon Visuals will only have its effects applied to stealth boys for the same reason.
in xedit search "cham" in the bottom box, expand all categories, and look for red. you're going to get a warning soon that's ok click accept.
right click a red item and select copy as override into, scroll all the way down make a new mod that is a esp with the esl flag Red indicates something was changed by a mod, and then re changed or undone by a later loading mod. In the window to the right mods will be displayed by load order from left (first) to right (last). Your new patch should be furthest right. make your patch imitate all desired behaviors from other mods.
for me that's in Object Effect > ench_mod_LegendaryArmor_Chameleon the Base Effect should be from this mod, Slippery Chameleon removes a condition. if you press CTRL+S you would get a status of every mod you changed, if you followed directions only your patch should be listed, if anything else is listed uncheck it before pressing ok.
Some mods that modify armor use their own object effects for "chameleon legendary" and therefore don't use this mod's visuals. you will have to find those on your own, copy as override into your patch and change the base effect to the one from this mod make sure to enable your plugin
Uh this mod destroyed my game... i can't use the pipboy anymore. even after unistall. no mouse commands work. can't fast travel now. unequipping the armor does nothing. help!
I would be interested to see a log of steps taken which caused this. I know sometimes while playing before I even made this mod, the PipBoy wouldn't let me use the mouse while sneaking with chameleon armor. Often exiting and re-opening Pip Boy or standing up to remove the chameleon effect would remedy this. You're saying that even after uninstalling the mod, the problem persisted, and your invisibility rating maintained? Did you stay crouched, with the cham armor on, save the game, exit it, then load that save? That's the only way I can think that would happen. Otherwise, if you remove the chameleon armor it should fix that issue. I didn't experience this with my testing. Which esp did you install? Did you install via NMM or manual? Any other mods installed which effect the PipBoy or chameleon armor?
Save while crouching could be a possibility. i used nmm installer. now after the manual fix via console i see the semi transparent bug somtimes too, but it does not persist anymore. now the re-equip fixes that. i suggest not going in to 3rd person while in stealth to prevent that from happening.
Thanks, i had the same problem. But even i wrote in console that command, it won't fix it, so i unqeuipped Cham armor piece, then saved and after i restarted game it fixed the issue.
I uninstalled this mod after I ended up deciding against it and now my character is permanently invisible and the one time I got her to be visible, the Pip Boy background was totally transparent and the text remained almost unreadable. Can anyone help me out?
From the mod's description: "THIS MOD IS OLD, AND I HAVEN'T TOUCHED IT SINCE BEFORE THE FIRST PATCH FOR FO4 WAS RELEASED. IT HAS NOT BEEN TESTED OR USED BY ME SINCE THEN EITHER. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF IT JACKS UP YOUR GAME, UNINSTALL THE MOD COMPLETELY AND LOAD A SAVE PRIOR TO WHEN THIS MOD WAS INSTALLED."
From the screenshots you provided it looks like the pip-boy screen is still sort of invisible/see-through. Is there anyway you could make it look like normal (aka how it looks when you're not using chameleon armor)? Either way I'll be tracking this and giving it a try once I get my current set of mods a bit more stable.
Via this method, probably not. Through some other avenue like disabling the shader or something maybe but this is my current solution for now. I'll fiddle with it as time goes on.
