Pip-Boy Flashlight (Pipboy - Power Armor - Lamp Overhaul) by akkalat85 overrides the vanilla Pip-Boy record (ARMO:00021B3B).

The most downloaded version (5.0.2) of said mod was uploaded on July 2016, and is missing a keyword (KYWD:0024A0B8) and an attach parent slot (KYWD:0024A0B9) from the current Fallout 4 version.

As a result, the player Pip-Boy will not show up on armor workbenches, thus locking out any modifications (usually skins) on it.

Some Pip-Boy mods, like Pip-Boy 2000 Mk VI by neeher, do not touch the vanilla record 00021B3B, so any new skins introduced by such mods are effectively blocked from showing up.

This quick fix utilizes RobCo Patcher by Zzyxzz to add back KYWD:0024A0B8 and KYWD:0024A0B9 to ARMO:00021B3B. I also updated the display name from Pipboy to Pip-Boy because why the hell not.

It works only when you have both RobCo Patcher 2.8.0+* and Pip-Boy Flashlight.esp active.

There are no new plugins, only an .ini containing one string. Load order won’t matter, install/uninstall at any point.

*I’m testing it on 3.2.2. You should use the newest version in any case.

The pipboy shown in the banner image comes from Pride Mod 2023 - Trans Solidarity edition by Elianora, which is currently trending on Hot Mods and conveniently has screenshots containing a good view of a pipboy skin.

The before/after screenshots were taken with the FallUI series by m8r98a4f2 and the ECO+LEO+NEO series by DankRafft, among others. In case anyone’s wondering.
