DETAILS

Many popular mods with well-made creature content have always had a common design flaw-actor and item names chosen stick out potentially causing the player to lose immersion. In many cases creature loot items (with confusing non-vanilla naming) could take focus away from the gameplay experience while looting or crafting. This mod was made to solve these issues. (This mod is only based on personal taste and no disrespect is meant toward the original authors' work)

FEATURES

Hundreds of alternate names given to both neutral wildlife and hostile creatures added by other mods for players that want a vanilla experience or simply just a different experience. These new names will be visible across all UI and menus throughout the game in addition to related items. Alternate naming conventions are inspired by existing, cut, and mentioned Fallout 4 creature names (including prefixes and suffixes) as well as names from other Fallout games such as 76, 1, 2, and Tactics.

Examples of alternate naming includes consistent names, lore-friendly(ish) names, and names referencing creatures from other wastelands. Creatures with names including spelling errors or inconsistent case such as "Deadly Honeybeast" to "Deadly Honey Beast" and "Savage RadStag" to "Savage Radstag". Creatures with lore-friendly and effect-based prefixes and/or suffixes such as "Angler Tadpole" to "Young Angler" and "Screech Owl" to "Owlet". Other names are a result of improvisation and names from canon and non-canon Fallout lore including concepts and mentions like "Glowing Newly Feraled Ghoul" to "Glowing Crazy", "Riverlurk Gorger" to "Giant Catfish Devourer", "Genius Neo Humanity" to "Intelligent Cybermech", and "Legendary Chameleon Sea Claw DeathHook" to "Legendary Chameleon Deathlurk Razorclaw". Alternate names for various consumable items and miscellaneous items including "Rad Spider Filet" to "Giant Spider Filet", "Radhorner Milk" to "Goat Milk" and "Leech Mucus" to "Giant Leech Fluids". Some equipment like weapons and weapon mods given alternate names like "Big Game Hunting Rifle" to "Wanderer's Hunting Rifle" and "Shadowed Fluted Hunting Rifle Barrel" to "Modified Hunting Rifle Barrel".

INSTALLATION

COMPATIBILITY

This mod only makes changes to creature names and item names. Things like item value, item weight, creature health, scale, and creature spawn lists have not been changed. Mods that make changes to creature records from the mods Mutant Menagerie Big Game Hunting, Unique NPCs Creatures and Monsters of the Commonwealth, and M's Abominations will possibly conflict.
