Horizon Patch for the weapon mod: Charger Pistol

  • This is a Horizon 1.9 weapon patch, not a weapon mod; the original weapon mod is required for this patch to work correctly.
  • Do not submit bugs that may likely be due to the actual weapon mod, rather submit bugs that are related to issues with the patch.
-It is a replacer patch, so place the patch after the weapon mod in the priority menu (assuming you are using the menu to the left of MO2), then place the .esp to load after Horizon .esp files in the plugin section. 
-This patch is for version 1.0 of the Charger Pistol mod. Assuming it ever gets updated, this weapon patch might not be compatible with a newer version. 

Notable changes:
-Converts the Charger Pistol to Horizon 1.9's weapon system.
  • In terms of 1.9, the weapon should feel like a hybrid between the

    plasma pistol, Horizon's Gauss/GaussVice Rifle, and the Revolver. Attachments will make a difference too.

-Integrated into ZX-1 Experimentation and Horizon LL, should be found on

Gunners, certain Raiders, and (after v1.16) Railroad agents.


Notable changes continued:
-Standard Magazine now fires faster than the Quick Charge Drum but only when not charged fully for .5 of a second (the penalty is a 25% damage reduction if not shooting at full charge).
-Reworked how several attachments work compared to their original counterparts.
  • Edited modification descriptions to fit closer to home with Horizon's descriptions. 
-Might of fixed the potential CTD bug caused by crafting the Heating Barrel mod. 
-Altered/lowered some FX values, for the purposes of less visual intensity.
-Removed Gauss Grenade.
-Changed the location of the unique and some of its properties.
  • Regarding the New Location and the disclaimer:

    The prototype is now located in the armory of Fort Strong, within the now-renamed 'General's Safe' in the office. As for the disclaimer, those who have already started a save on an older version of the patch (older than v1.12) may have to use the console command 'resetinventory' on the safe if the unique weapon is not there after unlocking the safe


Potential problems with the patch: 
-This is my first weapon patch for Horizon, if there are reasonable problems such as it feeling too overpowered relative to other weapons, please respectfully comment if so. 
-(EDIT: 7/2/2023) I may update the patch in the future; for now my personal problem with it is I feel I went too heavy on the Leveled lists with this mod, so it spawns more than it should. If I ever take the time to look at this patch again, I will try to fix some of the balance problems it has. Patch is still good, just not to the standards of my other patches since it was my first work.

-Check Changelog for any relevant changes to the patch.
-If you like the patch and the modifications I've made, please leave feedback if you are up to it.
- As of now, I do not plan on making any other weapon patches but If there is a unique weapon people really like (unique as in the mechanics of the weapon), similar to this one, with no Hz patch, then I might think of making one for it if enough people request it, assuming I have the time.
