Info:
Replaces the holotape model by a good ol' audio cassette tape, including all the 'games'.
If you ever had to use a pencil for 'rewinding', this is for you ;)

Check my video to see it "in action': (current version is slightly bigger)

NEW:
The (optional) Type-II replacement for the default cassette tape.

The Type_II archive will work on its own,  It is however meant to be used on top of the Holo-CassetteTape v1.2.
Includes a patch for the pip-boy 2k mk6, alternative textures (including the old style label) and UV map to help with customizing, but it does not contains/replace the game cassettes. The texture was split in 2. Shell & Label. Both come with a glow map now as well.

Different colors for the cassette can be created easily without touching the texture. As it gets its color, shine & transparency from the effects .bgem, not the texture. You can get some awesome results, but its difficult to get there, as neither nifskope or CK will always render it the same way as the game does.

The "Type-II" is an adjusted (more accurate for late 80's & early 90's) shell, with expanded inner parts. To show all the inner workings of the cassette. (incl. the screws, and from only one side this time.)., as this version was made transparent. It is therefor quite a bit heavier on the poly's as the default version and might possibly not render al that nice on some older setups because of the effect shader. As it is quite experimental (for me) and touching limits of the game engine I decided to keep the 'older' model and present this one as optional.

It should be quite easy for you all to tweak the material file for the effect, to(wards) your own favorite color & custom labels. Which could be easily shared (labels) in the image section of this mod! (if I approve of it)

If you create some good looking customized shells, involving custom bgem files, you can always contact me & I'll put 'm up for download.

NOTE:
This mod changes the pipboy model, as the holotape inside was swapped. Expect issues if you have other mods touching that nif (3D model). Texture replacements for your pipboy should be fine.

Remove the file: Meshes\Pipboy\CharacterAssets\Pipboy.nif from this mod if you still want to use it together with your pipboy replacer. (It will just not show the quick insertion animation with the tape, but the original or whatever comes with the replacer)

Patches:
I could fairly easily create patches for various pipboy replacers, if they still have a tapedeck & holotape. IF you get (or give, as author) me permission to do so. You all have my permission to create such patches in any case. I'll gladly link to them.

- There is now a patch available for those who use the Pip-boy 2000 MK VI by neeher. Extract the zip to your data folder and you should be ok. Looks darn good too!

- I wrote you a "do-it-yourself" article: How to patch your Pipboy replacer

Magazines:

You can optionally replace the magazine covers too, with a 1 or 2K version showing a cassette for the games. (separate download)

History:
- Added the additional/optional replacement "Type II" (version 1)
- Version 1.2 comes with modified UV's, textures & slightly bigger and more detailed mesh.

Requirements:
As it comes without an .esp this mod requires 'loose files' enabled.

...now if somebody could add an event & animation where the tape occasionally gets stuck, that would top it off :P

Enjoy!
