An unofficial update to YonaTaku's Defense Gun mod that contains a number of additions, adjustments, bug fixes, tweaks, and more.



FEATURES

BALANCE CHANGES
  • Decreased weapon weight.
  • Increased weapon value.
  • Completely overhauled receiver upgrades- these now offer a more traditional upgrade path with a converted .45 receiver offered as a high-end upgrade.
  • Adjusted the stats of many weapon attachment upgrades to match respective attachment upgrades on vanilla weapons.
  • Reduced the range but increased the rate of fire for all automatic receivers. (This was done to set them apart from vanilla automatic pipe guns)
  • Adjusted crafting recipes and perk requirements for nearly all weapon attachment options.
  • Adjusted mod collections- in many cases, decreased the minimum level at which certain upgrades will appear.
  • Adjusted (and added a handful of) object templates to match respective templates on vanilla weapons.
  • Adjusted suppressor noise level from Silent to Quiet.

REMOVED
  • Removed heavy/bull barrels.
  • Removed redundant stub, cone, and extended barrels.
  • Removed overpressure, incendiary, and armor piercing magazines.
  • Removed front reflex sight.
  • Removed original weapon leveled list injection script.

ADDED
  • Added a quick-eject drum magazine.
  • Added medium range standard & night-vision scopes.
  • Added new scripted weapon LL injection- weapon will now start appearing on Raiders, Super Mutants, Minutemen, Triggermen, vendors, and as legendary drops starting at level 5.
  • Added an optional patch that changes the ammo type to use 9mm rounds from Munitions.
  • Added an optional patch that changes the ammo type to use .32 caliber rounds from Munitions.

FIXES
  • Fixed an issue where NPCs with defense guns didn't spawn with ammo.
  • Fixed a handful of spelling and grammar errors.

CHANGED
  • Removed the custom instance naming (INNR) rules and changed it use the default weapon INNR. Weapons will now have names such as Defense Pistol, Defense Rifle, Defense Sniper Rifle, and Defense Submachine Gun.
  • Changed the name of light barrel options from Light to Fluted.
  • Changed a handful of names and descriptions to match vanilla naming conventions.


Due to the new leveled list injection added by this mod, a new save is recommended so that the weapon isn't added twice into your game.




REQUIREMENTS

If you have either of the optional patches installed, Munitions is also required.



INSTALLATION
Install using a mod manager such as MO2 or Vortex. Make sure to load this mod after the original. For example:

  • Yona_Weapon_DefenseGun.esp
  • Defense Gun - Unofficial Update.esp

If you have the 9mm ammo patch installed, see below for a proper load order example:

  • Yona_Weapon_DefenseGun.esp
  • Defense Gun - Unofficial Update.esp
  • Defense Gun - 9mm Ammo Patch.esp

If you have the .32 caliber ammo patch installed, see below for a proper load order example:

COMPATIBILITY & KNOWN ISSUES
None that I am aware of at the moment.
