FOODS,FLAT TVS,MOTORCYCLES) IS BECAUSE THEY ARE SET DRESSING AND
THEY BELONG TO ORIGINAL MODS FOUND ON THE NEXUS.
LINKS TO THESE MODS WILL BE PROVIDED IF YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO REBUILD THOSE ITEMS.
SCRAPPING:
BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU SCRAP. MANY OBJECTS WERE GROUPED WITH OTHERS AS A SOLUTION TO A PRECOMBINED ISSUE THAT KEPT RESETTING CERTAIN TEXTURE SWAPS AND ONLY WAY TO GET THE
CREATION KIT TO GENERATE THE PROPER TEXTURES WAS TO MAKE SCOLS
(STATIC OBJECT COLLECTIONS)OF THOSE OBJECTS.EXAMPLES: THE BAR
COUNTER,FLOORS,CERTAIN WINDOWS ETC.SO PRIOR TO SCRAPPING MAKE SURE
YOU SAVE SO YOU CAN GO BACK IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE.
FILE SIZE:
I KNOW IM GOING TO GET GRIEF FOR THIS BUT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT TO IMPORT 3RD PARTY ASSETS
WITHOUT MAKING THOSE MODS A DEPENDENCY(REQUIRED) I HAVE TO IMPORT ANY
CUSTOM ASSETS THEY NEED (TEXTURES,MESHES,MATERIALS ETC. )THE SAME
APPLIES TO ALL THE TEXTURES I USED TO MAKE THE TEXTURE SWAPS
“LORE BE DAMNED”
The reason for the title name is evident once you see the location.It has by far the most texture swaps and customized meshes ive ever done on a single location by me .
Objects on the location and the build are far from “lore friendly “Many of the textures and meshes are from other mods that i will mention in the credits.
I cant thank enough the mod authors that contributed by either allowing the use of their assets or sharing the knowledge that comes with experience...
This for me was a big learning experience and i went a little overboard once i got the hang of it. Ive done some crazy things (in a good way) to offer you something different from me for a change.
This location that has been SERIOUSLY overhauled and made into a settlement with a lot more than empty buildings.
This time i went a step further and basically furnished and decorated most of the location but with custom assets from other mods or modder's resources and some stuff i came up with myself.
Another thing i wanted to do was offer a non carbon copy type build with the same stuff in each area or the style of the buildings...SO almost every area is unique.No house or apartment is the same as another.Decorations and furniture of each area is also unique (hence the truck load of textures and assets )Im not going into the details of what you will find here because it spoils the fun.
Technical info..
Workshop is on the roof of the bar building in a shed.Power,wireless power transmitter (for lighting everywhere) and Beacon are on the roof of the next building.
Water source that also provides some food is in the guard hut (the one closest to the vault)Every area has its own light switch .This was done for 2 reasons. a) for more realism b) so that if you want to add your own lighting you can
switch off the light sources.Streetlights are also controlled with a switch for each road.The park area switch is in the guard hut next to the water.
The commercial area switch is on the utility pole.
JOBS:
Several jobs already set up in the form of furniture or mats and sandbags for guards.
And those are :
2 vendors in the diner,2 bar tenders,2 dish washers,barber,nurse,4 guards,clothing store,another guard that occupies the desk at the police station,weapon store,food market and a greenhouse with crops.I also made a cafe cart in the park area (assignable) and it can also be built in the workshop but you have to add decorations with
a placing mod yourself..)
Other resources:
Custom beacon on the roof,2 solar arrays,a wireless power transmitter for extra lights and certain gadgets (next to the one solar array)
Water and food resource (inside the one guard hut )A lot of turrets that need power so USE THE MOD “remove turret power requirement” (its a must for most of my locations).
Beds for 25 settlers (basically every store has apartments over them plus the 2 townhouses in the park.
Buildable items/objects :
All the high tech office equipment and furniture found in the decorations/misc category.The whole dinner as one object in the metal/prefabs/misc (there is another one in the wood too but that is a mistake)
A vendor kioske in the wood/prefabs/misc
The above mentioned cafe cart found in the resources/misc
Aside from the high tech set dressing terminals there is also a different laptop type terminal that you will find in a couple of places. This is also buildable and works as a regular terminal for playing holotapes,games etc..
Basically this mod is like 2 mods in one since all the workshop objects will also be available anywhere as long as this mod is loaded..
( and NO i wont be making a separate mod for those items to respect the authors that spent many hours making the assets).
Technical issues :
Well i have no idea if everything will work in your hands .While testing i disable the textures folder in my game that holds all the assets used and ran the game strictly from the texture archive of the mod itself and everything works fine.
That alone is a good indication that you have everything you need in the provided archives.A few minor precombined glitches with a couple of windows that cant be avoided but you can barely notice the issues unless looking from a
specific angle.
Precombines also altered a couple of texture swaps to vanilla but before i release i might try to fix those if i have the courage to...
For those that dont understand why certain errors happen just let me say this...
This mod is VERY complicated due to the number of custom assets and textures used....and for all those assets to work without the need of other mods to be required we have to take many extra steps and sometimes certain things refuse to work as intended.
Frame loss:
Well YEAH!! we will experience some frame loss due to the gigantic number
of objects ,windows and in general the area that this mod occupies which even without the mod installed is on the heavy side (its next to Hangman's Alley )
So rigs that are mid to low end will see frames even down to 30fps but only in a few spots while looking towards the
heavy cells..
Also note vid cards with less than 4GB memory are not recommended at least
not at 1080p and up...(this because of the many objects and textures)(personally i run a Ryzen 1600 (6 cores) 16 GB ram and a old GTX 970 (3.5GB ram) and not once was the game unplayable .
VERY IMPORTANT !!!! PUT THIS MOD AS LAST AS POSSIBLE IN YOUR LOAD ORDERS
Recommendations:
Mods that are a must for dedicated builders and those that want a cleaner
look without too many wires and connectors.
“remove turret power requirement”
“Longer power lines”
A placing mod like “place everywhere”
A scrapping mod thats up to date but make sure this mod is below it .(scrap mods usually break/disable precombines)
Also make sure this mod loads AFTER any precombine/previs repair mods
(this is a requirement not a suggestion).
Thats it for now because ill be honest in saying that this was by far the
most complicated mod ive done and at some time i felt way in over my head and trial and error was a routine.
I had to redo and re-think many times and hunt for solutions to many issues .
This mod took over 1000 hours to do and that meant at least 16 hours a day especially when i got the hang of how some things are done and went crazy using my new found knowledge :P.
This was a great learning experience and any future mods will be even more
interesting.
I want you to also know that this community on the nexus has some great
people always willing to help and share their knowledge which
helps us “newbies” in some areas get around problems and offer
you better content..
