Read the installation instructions before reporting bugs
Updating and version switch require the same steps
DONT FORGET to set your controls ingame to default after installation, updating or version switch

If you want to change something yourself follow this Article and download my codes provided in the optional section.
    MCM uses DxScanCodes Decimal
    Controlmap.txt uses xInput hex codes

Instructions how to change keybinds in MCM from mods not covered here
    Spoiler:
    Show

Go ingame and set a random keyboard button as hotkey for the mod you want on controller (H for iHUD or something)
There is a bug with some mods (like vafs crit) that the key visually disappears in the moment you set it, DO NOT set a key again for that mod, otherwise you will end up with thousands of registers of the same mod in keybinds.json. The mod will be registered anyway the first time you set a key (even if the button visually disappers)
    Save and close the Game
Open up my code file from the optional section
go to your Fallout 4 folder, (Mo2 users have to open up overwrite folder) Data/MCM/Settings open Keybinds.json, search the mod you want on controller and change the Keycode to the DxScanCode (Decimal) of the controller button of your liking, dont change the value on modifier it will unfortunately ctd your game
Also dont use a button that is already used, search if the same DxScanDec code value is used by another mod unassign the button in Keybinds.json (set to 0 or so)
Next look up CustomControlmap.txt in Data/F4se, Compare the Decimal DxScanCode you choosed with the xInput hex code provided in my code file, look on the third column in the gameplay section (where jump is) search the key and unassign it (set to 0xff)
Save all files and close them
    Protip
If you delete the value on the last column (far right) you can use this action with your keyboard even if controller is plugged in comes handy for not often used actions like toggle pov which gives you one more free modkey

    For Vortex users
    Spoiler:
    Show

please leave a comment if its works for you (and if it works, if you had to make workarounds or something to make it work) because i never see vortexes overwrite folder and i fear it is hidden if it had one.
I suggest to copy my MCM folder in your data folder and let it overwrite stuff if it dont work at all

    For Playstation Guys
Confirmed by myself that its work with playstation controller, a friend gave me one of his PS4 controller last night, tested it and works great

Minor bug related to XDI versions
    Spoiler:
    Show

When using Slm 14 or Cheat Terminal Portable to change your look, you sneak if you push the b button, use Keyboard and Mouse for that one, dont ask for a fix iam sure you guys can live with that lo

    Another one
    Spoiler:
    Show

Less a bug with my file than more a bug related to TAEP, if you slide in a new cell (like sliding into a cave) there is a chance of infinite loading screen while audio is still there (jump, crouch sounds for example) i suggest you guys to not slide into a new cell

For those who has trouble to get vafs redux items
    Spoiler:
    Show

look up misc section i have dedicated crit to dpad right but only default versions because iam lazy

    Incompatible Mods
    Spoiler:
    Show

    Toggle Aim
Everything else that come with CustomControlMap.txt like this this or this
    Notes to Toggle Aim
Only the recommended controlmap version is incompatible, however the mod author has a solution provided as readme.txt to edit your controlmap to make things work, i suggest to read it and tweak my controlmap carefully based on his instructions

    Future Plans
    Spoiler:
    Show

I dropped the scripted version again would take too much Time and with the soon release of starfield it is not worth the headache, however i uploaded another mod which uses steam controller, its a mix of my instructions here, the unlock action on keyboard trick and u know steam controller the controls are far from perfect but i will make 3 more versions there

Another one is the usage of the velocity framework to fix fallouts jumping (bruh nobody walks while Jumping)
And to fix Jetpacks (bruh nobody walks while midair with jetpack)
And (hopefully) fix the falling in fallout (nobody walks while falling down)

Maybe something else but thats it for now

After that i will wait for the first unofficial starfield patch lo

    Huge Update!!
Now i uploaded XDI versions of the other versions which will allow you to Slide without messin up dialogue
XDI is compatible again now, if you use a dedicated XDI version
i spent the last 20 minutes to make everything right and playtested them as well
AIO feature bloat is buggy and i dont like it its no longer supported i uploaded a better solution for that

Suggetions are Welcome, it is far from fleshed out

If you have your own setup based on my instructions that is different from those i offer please upload them, controllers deserves more Love on the Fallout 4 Nexus!!

I can only offer you controls which are good in my opinion but tastes are different

    Have Fun!

Your file pathing is missing "Data," it wasn't working for me initially and i was scratching my head as to why ot aint working. But then i noticed you said it needs to overwrite, but i wasn't seeing that on installation..Lol  But correcting the file pathing worked.

Interesting, what mod manager do you use? Iam on Mo2 and the file structure looks right here (data folder is not needed on my end)

True legend over here!! As 100% time gamepad player I can't even describe how thankful I am!! Man, you are the best!

Have some small problems during the installation and ways I fixed 'em:

Problem = Setting alternated control scheme (I like to jump on RS and activate on A)
Solution = Open Data/F4SE/CustomControlMap.txt , find needed action and edit button hex code in gamepad column.

Problem = Some actions were overlapping during the game (like siting down and opening the pip-boy or leaning left and VATS)
Solution = Restore to defaults the game's basic control map (SETTINGS > CONTROLS > DEFAULTS)

Using the first default version, the sneak bind was left unbound. To fix: open CustomControlMap.txt in the F4SE folder in your game directory's Data folder using notepad++, find sneak in the action column, replace the 0xff in the gamepad column with 0x2000, save, and finally reset controls in game to default.

It's actually just a whole lot easier to remap with the Steam controller support menu. I dinked around with this mod, as well all the config/text mappings, and i realized it's a waste of time.(No offense to your hardwork for compiling this solution) - Say i wanted uneducated shooter, and i wanted to bind them to LB and RB for the corner tilt. Using your method, or juggling bindings around, it can be a mess and conflict with other buttons. Or may just not work. Or maybe they download a preset, dislike a particular button mapping, and they screw something up trying to revert or change it. Instead, I can just go into steam controller options, add a secondary command to the LB and RB, have them correspond to the appropriate keyboard mappings, and then pick what kind of button press(like double tap, long press, short press, etc...) and boom... no conflict, no fussing with text files, nothing. Vats still works, slow time can work. RB still works with bashing and grenades, no accidental mishaps with a different function. I did this with mods like uneducated shooter, tactical extension, and wheel menu.

I binded Uneducated shooter to LB and RB(double press)
Tactical extension to my left control stick(double press)
And wheel menu to my right stick(double press)

Or maybe you just want to switch stuff around like vanilla controls. A hell of a lot easier to use steam controller options menu for that, too. And it's easy to just revert back to vanilla controls.

You can do this with practically anything that has a bind to your keyboard, and instantly see the results without exiting the game and checking stuff. Not trying to crap on your mod or your hard work. Because i've definitely played around with these files and believe me i know it's tedious. But the steam controller options menu is a life and time saver.

Make sure the actuator is double tap press. Does the lean work AT ALL for RB? Have you seen it work at least once? It could be a matter of your RB button itself potentially, as in it needs cleaning or the analog system is degrading. Or it could be the connection having delay and only counting the 1 tap for RB.

If you're confident your controller is not to blame, double check to make sure nothing else is interfering with your RB. Or just make sure your RB is correctly mapped to the correct key you binded for the right tilt. Also make sure you're pressing the double tap correctly: It's meant to be 2 quick taps, not 2 spaced out taps. Otherwise it'll just trigger the bash.

i had this issue as well, sigh... i was really hoping it would solve that issue, or i'm just a moron and can't figure this out. i attempted using this on a current save which means the MCM menu won't show, i have to start a new game for that to work, but yeah, i'm not going to do that at this time.

Big problem : When I turn off my controller and use the keyboard and mouse, I cannot use the ''T'' key to sit on the chair and wait . I can't skip the opening movie ''War never change''. That is to say, the T key has failed.
How can I fix it ?

I was trying to find a version that would trigger the "wheel" without triggering the vanilla favourites at the same time, plus XDI. Couldn't find. I assume that it might exist, but for an ordinary player it's turned out to be impossible to find(((

How do i keep vats working? (Using "Taep, XDI, Uneducated shooter" version). I had to keep xdi installed because it was a hard requirement even tho i don't want to have it in my modlist. Rebinding buttons like leaning works fine with steam controller configuration menu. But let's say binding vats to any other button only triggers it when controller is not plugged in.

Is there a mod or a tweak to make a custom bind to trigger vats? I would just bind it to double tap mic button on dualsense...

So maybe I'm misreading something, but which versions have Q.M.W (Quick Modification Weapon)? I already have XDI in my load order and I'm indifferent to everything else except VAFS. That one won't work with my other mods.

All of the files that say no VAFS still have it listed under requirements alongwith everything else on the list. Can anyone clarify which versions have QMW without VAFS?

Can I use this mod while using both Vafs and Wheel Menu?
I'm trying to have VAFS bound to L1 and Wheel Menu to down D-pad
