Hey, guys! :) I am addressing you, as I was looking for a way to solve the problem with the glow from the pip-boy at hand. I have installed mod "Tactical Tablet" and "Pip-Boy Flashlight" and of course the pip-boy on the hand is absent, but the glow at the hand from him remained :( Guys, please tell me how to solve this problem? Thanks for understanding :)
anyway you could patch streamlined pip boy's pipboylowplayer.nif? i see you fixed the behind the player 3rd person light issue. or give me a clue how to fix the nif....i've tooled around in nifskope to no avail. TIA.
edit: i managed to figure it out with some more looking in nifskope :)
sure, i recently published a working mod: Streamlined Pip-Boy Flashlight Patch which fixes the 3rd person issue. I have some crude instructions on how to replicate the same fix for yourself in the mod description.
For anyone that's attempting to find the solution:
This is a repost for anyone that doesn't look at the bug reports. I know you're more than likely here because either this mod is forcing the flashlight backwards, is making your Pip-Boy invisible, or both. No, you're not losing it, and if you've scrolled down this far you can read what's causing it. But there's not a real solution for casual modders or Mod Manager users. Here's that solution.
Go to your Mod Manager (I'm using Vortex)
Go to your Mods
Open Mod Staging Folder (It's the option next to "History")
Scroll until you find the patcher.
Open the folder and rename the ESP to "Pip-Boy Flashlight Patcher".
Go to your plugins and disable "Pip-Boy Flashlight Patcher".
For some reason, this fixes the issue.
For some reason, the mod author named the ESP for the mod the same as it would be for Pip-Boy Flashlight. Renaming it allows you to find the ESP associated with this mod in the plugins and disabling it will stop what's causing the 3000a to show as invisible and/or stop forcing light backwards.
With that being said; I have no idea why this works. I was able to piece together this solution through the invisible Pip-Boy thread of bug reports and the other one about issues with it working in first person. I'm not sure why the mod author hasn't tried to fix this issue either, but if you want to use the 3000a with the Pip-Boy Flashlight for whatever reason (Be it that you dislike the original light, you're having issues with another mod, other Pip-Boy replacers, or don't use Ranger Helmet Enhanced/West-Tek Optics) you'll need to do this.
Thankfully it's actually very easy and it won't break your game, plus if you mess up during the process you can just reinstall the file after deleting it and its archive.
And for anyone that hates the alternate weapon animations that the BETA file forces you to use rather than the normal animations, all you need to do is go through the same process but look for the Pip-Boy Flashlight BETA files, open until you find the animations folder within it, and delete the animations folder. That'll give you back the normal weapon stances and animations. Trust me, you will thank me later.
Brother of God, thank you so much! This worked perfectly.
I'm going to explain everything from the start if anyone else ends up stuck here:
1. Install Pip-boy Flashlight 2. Install Pip-boy 3000A 3. Only install this mod's MESHES folder! You DON'T want to overwrite the "Pip-Boy Flashlight.esp" 4. Go to your Pip-boy 3000A's installation folder and ensure there's only one plugin activated (mine came with two plugins, Pipboy3000A.esp and Pipboy3000A.esl. You only want to use ONE of them). 5. Use FO4Edit to edit the plugin you chose, and add the Art Object to the Armor Addon, as per the picture above. Then press Ctrl+S and save the edited plugin.
What's wrong with it. Works perfectly for me with the Flashlight Beta. Are you selecting PipboyEmit option during install cause that's the patch right there.
hello! is there any mod or tweak to make flashlights (including this one) work normally in third person? I mean in 3rd persoin if you not aim, flashlight just point forward
