HUIDE_VR alters the Fallout 4 VR specific .nif files 'world_HMD_info.nif', 'world_HMD_status.nif' & 'world_HMD_status_Seated.nif'.

In order for HUIDE_VR to be able to alter these files they first have to be deleted from the archive 'Fallout4_VR - Main.ba2' as Fallout 4 VR will not accept loose files to override the files in this archive. This is an unfortunate oversight that has yet to be patched by Bethesda. Any mod that makes changes to files in this archive in particular need to have its files deleted from said archive before working. This is also how one of the setup variants of another mod works, Idle Hands, and thus there is a need for a compataibility patch if using Idle Hands together with HUIDE_VR. This patch is included in the installer of HUIDE_VR.

The scale of HUD elements present in .nif files have been individually scaled to 0 if they are to be hidden. This has resulted in a number of files with different combinations, where some elements are left at original scale and some are scaled to 0. This allows the end user to install the specific set of combinations desired. There are currently 12 such combinations to choose from in the installer.

Compass is located separately from all other HUD elements and can therefore be hidden individually, and is presented as such in the installer.

The HUD element combination that are currently possible are visualised below:

Hides every HUD element except for Subtitles.

Hides every HUD element except for Subtitles & Location.

Hides every HUD element except for Subtitles & Notifications. (Requested by GingasVR)

Hides every HUD element except for Subtitles, Location & Low Battery. (Requested by callbobloblaw)

Hides every HUD element except for Subtitles, Location & Quest Objectives/Updates.

Hides every HUD element except for Subtitles, Location, Quest Objectives/Updates & Quest Animations (often contains spoilers).

Hides every HUD element except for Subtitles, Location, Quest Objectives/Updates & Stealth Meter/Indicator. (Requested by Watercrown)

Hides every HUD element except for Subtitles, Location, Quest Objectives/Updates & Condition (such as crippled limbs or speech check).

Known Compatibilities

• Idle Hands - As changes are required to be made to the archive 'Fallout4_VR - Main.ba2', a patch is included for HUIDE_VR to be compatible with Idle Hands.
  

Known Incompatibilities

Any mod that also makes changes to the archive 'Fallout4_VR - Main.ba2', or otherwise alters the file(s) 'world_HMD_info.nif' and/or 'world_HMD_status.nif' & 'world_HMD_status_Seated.nif'.

Install

• Make sure you are up to date with how to enable mods for Fallout 4 VR.
• Install the mod using the FOMOD-installer in a mod manager of your choice.

Uninstall

• (Automatic) Uninstall in your mod manager of choice.
• (Manual) If installed via mod manager this isn't recommended. Remove the included .nif file(s) and the .ba2 archive from your data folder.
