    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    UPDATE 2022

I have just uploaded four of my XCF -files in the misc. files section. Namely the red digital numbers (NixieTubeNumbers), the yet-to-be released power armor condition indicator (PAConditionSolid) and the two textures containing all of the actual gauges (PADash01 and 03). Rest of the textures, such as the visor and dashboard can be found from their respective creators as shown here. Everybody please feel free to use my XCF -files for your own projects, if you think you can improove them and get them to look better, than please GO for it and remember to endorse and share credit if you share or publish them.

I am almost completely tied down in working on musical instruments and producing photobooks. These are paying jobs and I am VERY fortunate to have such work, so I can't neglect them - Sorry everybody. I really do hate to let people down on the promised new and improved versions. The way they are now, if you are experiencing too much pixelation, than the only thing I can think of is more antialising and/or filtering if you have a good gaming rig. But right now, for weaker systems, I don't have an improoved/more clearer texture - really sorry about that. But like I said, feel free to try it yourself or look for a painter in the forums and have them do it.

If anybody has any questions, files/something you can't find or understand, than just post here or drop me a line in the private messages.

    - Thanks Everybody, have a Better New Year! -

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, so it's been a year.

As the German's would say: "A Heartful Thank You'" to everybody who actually tried this and commented, all of you still tracking this mod and waiting in your yearning lust for more - Thank You.

I've taken a break from gaming and most of the Nexus. Sorry if you've felt like I don't care about you (I do) but we all have other things to do than just play video games - you haveto live life, too, and it just so happens I also love setting up, fixing and modding people's musical instruments which can be alot of work. I am also not in good health and unfortunately that's not going to change. It's old and nothing to do with vaccines or COVID, (well wouldn't help if I'd get it) but it does drain me quite abit, so if it seems like I'm not replying to your posts (any posts) or PM's even if I make new posts elsewhere, I simply just can't get to the others. It's too much. It is VERY hard for me to organize and segment my thoughts and get them written down properly - sometimes my posts are terrible/unreadible gibrish with no logical paragraphs where even I have trouble reading them afterwards.

    - BUT -

If you're having installation problems/missing features, it's because I suppose I wasn't clear enough that this v.0 or version 0 only changes the gauges and nothing more, meant just as a little demo. 16:9 is also likely the only aspect ratio this will be available in. I don't know how to do it myself but with the way version 0 is now, anyone is allowed to port version v.0 to other games, such as 76.
I think I forgot to allow for that in the permissions- FIXED

    THE MISSING FEATURES:

PA Visor from keithvsmith1977 has several options availabe, I just didn't use anything else except for the carbonfiber styled dashboard and visor. You can choose a dash/visor style you like and just exclude other files like I did. You can also see, in my screenshot, I've modified the yellow digital numbers texture to be glowing red instead. I have just asked him about permissions to share it with a reworked/painted version of the visor as well, was last active in June, so we wait. The re-arranged dashboards from keith are not compatible with my texture!

    ______________________________________________________________
    EDIT/UPDATE:
    We have permissions from
    keithvsmith1977 !
My reworks of his PA visor assets will be in v1.0
    ______________________________________________________________

PA HUD - No Transparency from hellstorm102 This will be a requirement if you want the "no transparency" -effect. This also has many options available, I used the "HudBoth1st and 3rd" -version of which there are 3 variations available: black, classic & weathered. All are fine but I used only a .nif -file from the mesh -folder, you can do the same but you don't haveto unless you specifically want that carbon fiber -look from keith's mods, which I use, in which case you just let keith's mod overwrite .DDS texture files BUT NOT the "padashdials01.nif" -file.  EDIT/UPDATE: I've had a couple of different instructions mixed up about this because I've forgotten how these files/mods worked together exactly, sorry. You can try this and I will help you step-by-step if it gets messed up for you. I am in the process of setting up new mods after a long break and can't get to testing this right now, sorry.

My personal textures (not yet shared anywhere) are seen in my screenshot, it shows copied ideas from:

User_32144350 and his Better Dials for Power Armor - Fallout 4
kevkas and his Power Armor HUD - Left and Right Indicators

You can't use both of these but I completely re-painted my own version from scratch, combining these two mods with new additions (that math symbol in my screenshot and different colored glowing pilot/led lights), which user_32144350 gives permission to do at his mod page, but it doesn't mean I can also steal these ideas and re-release for my own glory and praise. I have just now asked kevkas about his, was last active in July and so we wait. Since the other user is unreachable, and the mod is quite simple (just adds colors, still an excellent idea), I am probably going to release my version anyway with proper credits and hope I don't get chastised. I am not even looking into setting aything up to be monetized, doubt I ever will.

    ______________________________________________________________
    EDIT/UPDATE:
We have permissions from kevkas !

My (our) condition indicator will be in v1.0
    (combining 3 mods total)
    ______________________________________________________________

    VERSION 1.0
I am going to add the cut content (condition indicator, red digital numbers dial and my reworks of keith's visor and dashboard) into a new archive version 1.0 for the benefit of anybody interested in the future so you don't haveto download all the other mods separetly. Like I said ubove, hellstorm102's mod will still be a requirement as I'm not asking permission for that, it's too much - just download it. EDIT/UPDATE: Proper instructions for this will be revised when v1.0 is ready. You can always, and should, thank the original authors by however you usually would.

    FUTURE VERSIONS
I hope there'll be some. My health and mental energy willing, I still want to re-paint the whole damn thing into 4K with a scaled down 2K option, re-painting because I think I put in too much detail and in a way that just doesn't quite come out/satisfy. There's no fixing it any other way esp. with the layers in the original painting being a massive mess because I hadn't painted in a long time when I did this. After all that, I could certainly take a look at some of the color and dial preferences that a few people posted about and have some alternates. I've also been wanting to repaint my own visors and different look to replace the vanilla dashboard/keith's carbon fiber.

I've also talked with octodecoy about his mod PA HUD Switcher (allows different textures for different PA helmets!) OMG :-O and a texture project to have different logical/lore friendly textures for all the different base game PA helmets to start with... octo has already collected links of many of the textures already available in the Nexus. Our sanity and energy levels willing, I will paint new updates for his mod and as much as I'd absolutely love to paint custom textures for all the custom PA's floating around, we'll just have to see how inspired and energized I can get/be in the future.

    - THANK YOU EVERYBODY -

PLEASE Get the correct permissions, and release your fully modified work! This is amazing, easily the most brilliant PA HUD mod! I would just reduce some of the blue symbols on the radiation dial maybe?
ALSO, huge idea, but a lot of players are on 21x9 aspect ratio monitors. Makes for a very annoying power armor experience. Im wondering if you can add an option to help deal with that?

      FOR ALL THE WIDESCREEN PLAYERS:

Oh, man, let me guess, you're an extra wide screen player yeah?

I have noted your comments on the RADS dial but 4:3 and 16:9 really is the scope of my knowledge and experience. To have other ratio's outside of 16:9 means re-painting the textures again either completely or atleast in part - It's just too much extra work for me, I really am sorry.

I'll tell you what, if you think you can find a painter, (in the forums, where ever) I will allow using the v.0 texture and my .xcf layer assets, as they currently are, how ever you see fit to get it to work on a much wider resolution.

Pull that off and I will update it here and depending on what kind of agreement you'd have with your to-be painter, you can publish it yourself as well. I hope that floats your boat. But I have to warn you, the layers of paint are a... MESS... Because I painted this after a long long break but I will upload that here for you and, I guess, for everybody. But at least I named (most) of the layers in english... xD Also, and while it should be compatible, I've no idea how well .xcf -format will work outside of GIMP. I haven't used photoshop in 15+ years. For future updates/versions (v1.0), I'll be posting details and permissions when the time comes.

Don't hate it here, but no. However, anyone is allowed to port v.0 to any game.

For future updates (v1.0) there will be new info/permissions in my locked sticky post when the time comes.

Lore Friendly would involve bringing power armor training back, but that sounds like more effort than it's worth, and a completely different mod. The texture is neat but the health meter is rather busy. I do like how it shows how much health you've lost due to rads however.

I have noted your comments on the health gauge but "Nate", the sole survivor of V111 is supposed to be a combat army vet so it's reasonable to assume he'd already have some PA training as opposed to "one-o-one", a true born vault dweller, who never even had access to PA untill he left the vault.

At the very least, he would have seen it used, people exiting and entering it. Some lore regarding the encounter with the USS constitution states he was from an infantry regiment, the 180th IIRC, not armoured cavalry... Certainly more chance of getting shown how power armour works than most wastelanders, but not certain. Mostly variable depending on how pre war infantry companies were organized, if they had integral power armour support or not.

Perhaps it could be explained via how he became a war hero. Finding an abandoned suit of power armour and just making it work to defend against an ambush by Chinese stealth units against their camp or something, since the game never goes into detail about how he got that honourific.

      A-HA!

Thanks for that, I specifically forgot about the 108th, it's been a while now after all.

Now I've got to look up some insignia art for the 108th.

I actually quite like this. Reminds me of those old school Amiga shooters that had elaborate HUDs all the time. :D

Yeah I been there. Mom still has our old Amiga (with 2 expansion units) in storage somehwere with maybe 200 disks of sid/chip music, software AND those old games. Even got one of those old joysticks, Jesus man, I wonder if those old disks still work? Damn. I remember my brother porting those old sids and chips into mp3's somehow...

Wow. 20 days after release of this mod and I find it. I'm surprised it's not more popular, considering the quality of what you're aiming for in this mod. Survivalists would love this mod, especially if combined with PAVOS. This is pretty neat, so I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Man I'll find anything in on the bowels of the Nexus, I just DIVE IN TEHRE and, suddenly, it's like 4 hrs and one week later and I need to take a muscle relaxant... Yeah.

I think with a bit more texture polish I could see myself using this; All these mod packs want immersion, then use holo-hud and remove the immersive feel of wearing power armor

Ditto, bro. I love the challenge of that limited vision and I got used to it, I mean Bruce Lee trained while blindfolded... C'mon! And people are bothered by a little super immerssive visor and dashboard... But I agree, It's still got to be a bit more polished. I think I tried putting in too much detail.

Wow looks real cool!! Gonna switch from my nearly-transparant one to yours!
I was wondering, if it was possible to make the HUD shake a little whenever moving - you are inside a walking tank afterall. Maybe some .swf editing, I don't know

Yeah... That definitely should be a vanilla/base game feature already. You probably used a .nif -file from another mod that has that shaking disabled.

Install instructions for anyone viewing this after me, grab the "Power Armor Helmet Style" mod and install it with your mod manager of choice, then grab this mod and overwrite. Baby you've now got the exact hud as in the screenshot!

Also thanks Jack for the PAVOS recommendation, I've been modding F4 since release yet I hadn't heard about that one yet.

edit* and of course mod author thank you for your awesome hud work, I love it!
