Experimental 1.2 Version is out (only AIO at the moment until someone can confirm that it works), this should fix issues with a lot of helmets (especially the combat helmet!) and make them show hair properly.
Also cleaned up the mod a little bit, and added the Ushanka to the mod! Now you can be warm and show off your hair <3 As soon as the experiemental version is confirmed to be working I will release the vanilla and retro's pick version!
Directions for getting hair to appear with the combat helm (see bottom of post for other helms if they are having issues). These directions were made for FO4Edit 4.0.4 and Hats w Hair 2021 AIO version 1.2.
1. Download and open FO4Edit 2. On the left: Expand Fallout4.esm and then Armor Addon 3. Scroll down to 0011E2C7 AA_Combat_Helmet_Helm 4. Right click on 0011E2C7 and select "Copy as override into..." 5. Select "hathairaio.esp (your .esp will be a different name if you are using something other than the AIO version of this mod). Click OK 6. With 0011E2C7 selected on the left, look for the hathairaio.esp column on the right (again your .esp may have a different name for this mod) 7. Find the "First Person Flags (sorted)" row. In this row under the hathairaio.esp column, right click on "30 - Hair Top, 31 - Hair Long" and select Edit. *If you cannot find "First Person Flags (sorted), try expanding the "BOD2 - Biped Body Template" row. 8. Deselect 31 - Hair Long and hit ok 9. Close FO4Edit. It will prompt you to Save changed files. Leave hathairaio.esp selected and leave Backup plugins selected at the bottom. 10. Profit
If there is another helm that is giving you a problem and you want to try a similar fix then read this: Hats/helms decide what parts of hair to remove with flags. In FO4Edit, scroll down to this hathairaio.esp and expand "Armor" then select the Combat Armor Helmet entry (FormID is 001E2C8). You can see where this mod removed the flag for "31 - Hair Long" if you look under the BOD2 - Biped Body Template section. The reason that the long portion of hair was still being removed in the game is because it is inheriting the Hair Long flag from its model.
To see what I am talking about, scroll down to the "Models" section. You can see that Hathairaio.esp is using AA_Combat_Helmet_Helm as Model #0 and it does not have a model listed for Model #1. That AA_Combat_Helmet_Helm also has flags associated with it that needs to be changed. You will have to look for the models under the Fallout4.esm > Armor Addon on the left to see what flags it has.
So if you have another helm that is giving you an issue, look at the models it is using and see if it is inheriting a flag that you do not want.
(I also wanted to through out there that this mod removed the model for "AAHelmetFlightCap". I suspect that this is the model for the neck portion of the Combat Armor Helm.)

Hi sadly this mod is compatible with the Combat Helmet Illumination mod. I had to disable the other one though just because how much I wanna see my hair with the helmet.
Open creation kit, tick the skyrim helmet mod and the base fallout 4 Scroll down to items and press the +, then click on armor Find the helmet, not sure what it would be called but maybe just try searching for "skyrim" Double click on that Look at Biped Object right in the middle Click on Hair Top and disable it and any others that are enabled, except for Headband (I'm pretty sure)
Just load PMC helmets with this mod and add that :)
Any chance of patches for (major): AWKCR, Endor's custom combat armor, unofficial fo4 patch. And (minor): upgradeable army helmet, Gas Mask Hat Fix. ??
I'm pretty saw AWKCR already makes it so that hats are visible with hair, and I was using this alongside ofo4patch... as for the other mods, I don't have fallout 4 installed right now so I don't think I'd be able to; but surely it would be okay if you just load this mod after?
It should work for them but I could be mistaken, it's been a while but from memory it edits the actual helmets (by stopping them from taking up the slot that hair takes) rather than the hairs so it should be compatible

I removed the 31- Hair Long from The "Armor Addon" - 0011e2c7 entry as well with Fo4Edit.
I'm using Azar short hair 7 and it clips a tiny bit on the right side but it's much better than looking bald.
However, in my case the clipping was so awful for the hair I wanted that I ended up just making the helm invisible instead XD.
Open creation kit, tick the skyrim helmet mod and the base fallout 4

Some other mods that I use that may cause the problem or make it seems like it works (the ones that modify hats/hairs):
Synth Helmet with Glasses
Hoodless BOS Field Scribe's Hat
Combat Helmet Illumination
Ponytail Variations
Realistic Hair
Vivid Hair Color Extended
